I think it’s simply unbridled narcissism. He can’t stand being questioned and he absolutely cannot stand being corrected. The fact that he’s an idiot who can’t be bothered to check before making an asinine statement means that he’s always being questioned and corrected, and he just spends his days seething at a world that won’t just accept him as the genius he thinks he is.

This is John we're talking about here. He literally called himself the "Godzilla of Tech" despite having no degrees, patents, or bona fides in "tech" aside from a failed game that looks like Bratz Dolls meets Danger Girl (and all the work was done by other people). He constantly acts like he knows everything about anything, even when it's a subject way way outside his sphere of understanding.

John is Dunning Kruger on two shaved wendigo legs, and being told "no, you are wrong" EVEN WHEN HE IS WILDLY INCORRECT, gets John's bloody stump all a-twitching. He's going to keep acting like a rabid cunt until he steps out of line and gets chided by his NPC peers or until he gets his shit pushed in like when he tried to one-up a female pilot named Quincy about airplanes.

Why would the risk be cumulative? (I think the other part of that sentence doesn't make any sense either but unlike John I can admit when I have no clue about something.)

I also can't find anything that says BA5 is "wildly dangerous" as it was more mild than Omicron in South Africa and everything I can find says it should hit the United States most similar to how it did South Africa.

Agreed. John (and some left-wingers) treat COVID as a moral Litmus test much like the Religious Right did with AIDS: if you got it, then it was because you are an abomination that deserved it and should be cleansed from the planet before you spread it.

Diseases don't give a shit about your sexuality, social status, gender, bank account, religion, or morality. They'll kill us all equally just the same.
