It's even dumber than that, John wants them to fix the texture warping (good luck doing that with a Sony emulator), and to adjust the normalmaps on a console that only uses prebaked textures.

In other words, John is a retard.
 
Part of me would love a modern graphical update of Tekkens 1-3 but another part of me thinks they'd lose their charm and that look of the times they were made in.

What does he think a windfall profits tax is and why does he think it has anything to do with anything he mentioned here?

Not exactly, he wants to see typical gouraud shading on the models instead of that stylistic and (very nice) Virtua Fighter 1 like flat shading. If he had said "soften the normals" that would be one thing but Wu ain't a one trick pony and "soften the edges of the normals" is when you know the circus is coming to town and it features other acts like "uprezzed texture mapping" which is inscrutable Wu speak for "texture filtering", common for the last 25 years, and "a level of SubD more" which means that he thinks models can be made better by a press of a button in a program that subdivides them into more polygons and that Namco actually did port this but just pressed the button once. $1 SLAVE MACHINE: TESSELLATE!

The models are 1000% exactly the same.

Funny how the narrative changes. Now John wasn't making a shrewd investment based on his incredible knowledge of technology and economics. Now John just bought some as sort of a joke because he was idly curious but almost immediately used his incredible knowledge of technology and economics to determine that it was a scam.
