I think the tale of Nazi parents disowning bisexual woman John Flynt is designed to secure his place on the oppression totem pole, despite the fact that he loathes cis women and finds them icky competition for the world's penises, which should all belong to psychopathic tranny ogres.

It is, I've tended to turn them off (at least the wandering ones) in the newer games (V and VI) because they're more annoying than anything.

And the canidate John backed was the only name on the ballot and lost 59 percent to 41 percent, which is unheard of in a city the size of Buffalo.

Plus, the guy who won is a black man, so John and his sociopathic pals can't reeee about white supremacy, white privilege, white fragility, and all of the other evils that are hardwired into white flesh.
 
It'll be interesting to see the truth behind that MAXIMUM LEGAL DONATION tweet actually. I don't believe a Super PAC can donate directly to candidates in New York. And a number of SuperPACs spent a large amount of money on Buffalo, the Working Families Party spent $64,000 on Walton, the New York State Realtors Fund spent $300,000 on Brown's write-in campaign and a Republican group spent $30,000 on him too and that's just from the first news story I pulled up. RebellionPAC didn't even create a shitty ad to post on their YouTube!

Excuse the yuropoor powerlevel here but wtf? Only one candidat on the ballot? How is this possible? And how can you even lose in this situation? Correlary: what does write-in mean here?

I know that it happens quite a lot in small villages in my country that nobody runs for mayor. But also, my country really doesn't believe in remunerating public officials. I would guess that New-York state is culturally very different. Here, we think that politician is not a full time job. So much so that, last I checked, the most common job in our parliament was farmer.

In the United States you're allowed to literally write anyone you want in. Not every state counts these, most states only count them if the person registers as a write-in candidate.

There was only one candidate on the ballot because it's a one-party city, the Republicans (and other minor parties) don't even run a candidate because they have no chance of winning. India Walton, Wu's candidate, beat the sitting Mayor Brown in the Democratic primary so she was the only one going forward on the ballot as a Democratic candidate. But Brown registered as a write-in. (As did three other randoms.)

So everybody got a ballot that was like:
1. India Walton (Democratic Party)
2 ________________________________

And on line 2 enough people wrote in Brown for him to win.

This has happened a few times, most notably in the Alaska Senate election of 2010 where Lisa Murkowski lost the Republican primary then ran as a write-in and won. Strom Thurmond was first elected to the Senate in 1954 as a write-in candidate as well.
