2020- won the Presidency, lost seats in the House, required two overtime runoffs just to tie the Senate
2018- won the House, made up ground in the Senate, fair to call this a win imo
2016- lost the Presidency, failed to take back either the House or Senate

also John personally lost two primaries during this time and tried to claim responsibility for a third that was also lost (Nina Turner)

edit: Also want to note that the OTHER progressive female Wu in the Boston area is about to become Mayor in part because she rejected calls over the same cycles to make quixotic primary challenges against sitting Congressmen/Senators and instead focused on winning in local government.
