What? Airplane! isn't dated in the slightest. That's actually what's so amazing about it, other than a few small specific references that themselves still have enough humor to them, pretty much every joke stands up still. And it's far from basic, many of the jokes are layered and build upon each other.

TL;DR Wu's clues can't sus out people scapegoating sexism, proceeds to miss the point. The apple situation seems to be people using the metoo movement to cover their own ass for pretty much entirely unrelated things. The other woman in the verge article, Ashley Gjøvik, called her boss Mr. Suicide Nets on her public twitter, which while hilarious, isn't very professional.
