At this point, I sincerely wish that GamerGate was the harassment campaign these people thought it was, because if it was, we probably wouldn't be seeing these social rejects prominently today.

Quite a few people thinking it's going to be a documentary or a game - it's an announcement about a fictionalised TV series about GamerGate. It's incredibly unlikely to go anywhere, but that won't stop Wu from milking the idea that she 'worked in Hollywood' for the rest of her life. The company behind it has made fuck all and this is most likely going to amount to nothing - there's thousands upon thousands of projects that get announced and then disappear, and this one has even less chance of getting up than the cinematic adaptation of 'Crash Override', which got a similar announcement, and even pretended Scarlett Johansson was going to star in it.
The real milk is going to be from Wu now constantly talking about it as if it's a thing, as if he's going to basically be the solo scriptwriter, as if he's making inroads to Hollywood and will be rubbing shoulders with the stars. He'll talk about his plans for it, his thoughts for how it will go, all the things he's going to do - and none of it will happen, because not only is the project doomed to fail, but he's an 'idea guy', allergic to actual work but happy to claim that his contributions are the most important things.
Also, while it would be hilarious for troons to get up in arms about a troon being played by a cis actor again, there's absolutely no way Wu would have himself portrayed as anything other than a normal woman. His character will be touted (by him) as a Strong Feminist In Tech, constantly talked over and belittled purely because she's a queer woman, and not because it takes ten seconds of Wu's blathering to realise he has no fucking clue what he's talking about.
This is only going to bolster Brianna's rich fantasy life where he is a she, where he has accomplished any goddamn thing, and where he knows which words to omit from his various occupations to make them sound more important. I would eat my own foot if Brianna Wu had ever corrected someone about having been a congressional candidate, instead of a failed Democratic primary challenger. The same thing will happen with this - he undoubtedly already thinks of himself as a showrunner akin to Shonda Rimes or David Simon; look for him to become a 'TV show creator' or some such blatant bullshit.

One thing to remember. Real GG was lefties and journos screeching over their phones about people disagreeing with them online, but in the mind of anti-GG, there were spec ops snipers trying to kill them (the navy seal copy pasta) and every passing car or suspicious person that walked past their house was a GG assassin that narrowly missed their mark.
We begin with a flashback. A young boy is alone in a dark room illuminated only by a TV. Parents are arguing in the background about a divorce. The kid is playing Grand Theft Auto. He pulls a hooker out of a car and beats her to death with a bat. Close up of his eye and a dark sting plays.
Titles over a montage of games where women are basically naked and the player beats them up for points, feminists making milquetoast criticisms of those games, and those feminists getting killed, raped, or harassed online because of it. The police do nothing.
Cut to present day Seattle (to keep the budget low) we see that young boy has grown up. We see him watching a 2012 era PewDiePie YouTuber (because Wu is out of touch) playing that childhood game. "Women are bitches and whores, am I right?" says the YouTuber. The next YouTube recommended video plays, and it's a conspiracy theory about how the earth is flat or the moon landings are fake. He's began his trip down the "alt-right pipeline".
Meanwhile, Wrianna Bu is making a game. She hires a talented young dev to help. The man from before (Let's call him Mr GG). Bu has doubts because he's wearing a MAGA hat, but is convinced he's a good kid who's great at what he does.
The rest of the show is typical SJW entryism, but for MAGA instead of the far left. Mr GG converts existing company members to "the alt right", and hires friends who share his views, including his best friend Mr Neckbeard. It's slow at first, but they start adding things to the game that are anti-feminist, telling women to shut up during meetings, and "sexually harassing" the female staff. When one woman goes to the police about sexual harassment, Mr Neckbeard posts to 8chin about what a bitch she is. She's chased down and raped or killed. Police dismiss the concerns as internet bullshit, but as the cops leave one flashes the ok hand sign on the way out the door (complete with slow mo and music sting).
Bu turns to a TV where a speech by Drumpf, who lost the election, is playing. He flashes the ok hand sign too, and she begins connecting the dots. The YouTuber flashing the ok sign, her employees are flashing the ok hand sign, maybe even historical nazi footage will have it. She realises that Drumpf is going to storm the capitol. She grabs Mr GG and shows him this proof, which he denies at first, but he comes around eventually. Mr GG runs to Mr Neckbeard, who says Mr GG is "cucked". Neckbeard draws a gun and tries to kill him. Bu uses karate to stop him. How are they going to stop the take over of the United States and finish the game on time?
The pilot ends on a cliffhanger.

Twitter is still valid, kind of low following, but they are following a bunch of blue checks and even the "official" CHAZ account.
Linkedin is interesting, apparently mindriot has only existed for three months.
Dodd has also run a number of other "production companies", half of which are closed, all with little to no content online about them.

Gamergate is like the Holocaust to certain sections of the Woke Left, they will simply never shut the fuck up about it and the more years that go by, the more they will exaggerate it to demonise their enemies. It's like how Jan 6th is already seen as a a terrorist atrocity on the same scale as 9/11 by these people.

My current thoughts:
He makes a game/runs for congress/does a series in the quickest and laziest way possible so he can put "game dev"/"congressional candidate"/"TV writer" in articles written about him and his Twitter bio to seem experienced and knowledgeable, then he pockets the money from his unpaid workers' salary/donations/budget and buys another sports car. Plus, since it's over so quickly he can immediately move on to the next project.

Does anybody on either fucking side of the issue still care about gamergate? Is there even enough interest for a series? When it flops due to universal lack of interest will the blame be placed on gamergate again? Would the gamergators even give a fuck anymore?
These are questions I hope will be answered by the series.

I don't care if they are pro or anti gamer gate or whatever, it's been fucking years anybody (sjws and die hard gamergate) that can't get over it by now is either trying to blame all modern day issues on gamergate (reductionist), profiting of it (grifter), or just stupid (idiot).
