Remember when Brianna joked about heroin addiction?
Brianna Wu said:
Audi: A Car with the Reliability of a Heroin-Addicted Parent™

Absolutely shameless. Anyway kudos to Lynch for kicking alcohol, which is a thousand times harder than kicking fucking Ambien.

Hell of a sentence, John.

And as if we needed any further proof of @RepStephenLynch's drunken debauchery, here is the useless buffoon selling the country out to chinks and other social degenerates. Get off the sauce and lead your district like John Flynt is, Steve!!!

Wow, that's sleezy.

Apparently Wu is fine with talking shit about the personal lives of politicians and what they did in the past. Let's see how that would work out for Wu.

Have you noticed that every single issue that Wu raises that isn't a whacked-out crazy loony leftist cause is targeted squarely at Lynch's strongest points?

Like, how is Wu possibly going to compete against Lynch on services for veterans, unions, substance abuse and in general reputation as a friend of the working class? All these things Lynch has an unimpeachable record of service in championing in congress and securing significant funding for.

I know one shouldn't assume malice where incompetence will suffice, but it's beginning to seem like Wu is deliberately trying to fail.

Rehab takes many shapes and forms. True inpatient rehab can be expensive, but more often than not tends to be a vehicle for the slightly-more-affluent to avoid or mitigate criminal sanctions, typically by submitting it as a mitigating factor pretrial. In my opinion many of those spendy inpatient joints are much less effective than the other options- they always strike me as the sort of place mom and dad send little billy after his third DWI charge or when he gets popped with a bunch of benzos to avoid prison time. My anecdotal evidence says that the recidivism (or relapse, however you want to view it) rate for attendees of these programs is very high- can't say I think too many of the attendees go in to truly get clean, but to give the appearance of doing so.

However, outpatient rehab, methadone clinics, Narc anon, al anon, etc, and many local healthcare providers will give very good treatment and provide many prescription medications at low or zero cost in most areas- its just a matter of getting junkies and those not inclined to seek treatment to actually use it. Substance abuse counselors often tell me that one of the hardest battles they face is getting people INTO the clinic in the first place. There is a significant stigma attached to seeking treatment in the first place- people need to want it to do so initially.

That said, many of the poor or indigent who frequently find themselves in legal trouble as a result of extended drug usage find themselves in government mandated inpatient treatment- which are generally not exactly closed facilities (read: they aren't a prison, and you aren't locked up), but which they are sanctioned for if they do not complete successfully.

There is lots of treatment out there and money does not have to be a primary concern, but junkies are generally miserable people even before you consider the terrible shit that drugs make you do when you're really addicted. There is often an underlying cause or social aspect that causes people to take addictive medication or drugs anyway... but treatment and rehab certainly exist.

It's a hard fucking problem to solve and no treatment is 100%.

But John I thought you were homeless in your 20s...

View attachment 231817

Once again fudging her age with everything. This time she does it just to reinforce to people that she was in her "early 20s" in 2002. She admits she went to rehab in 2002, which is the year she turned 25. She went back to school after rehab. The wiki links to her 2006 yearbook photo. This means she was not homeless at least until age 28/29 if not later. Maybe her parents aren't bigots and just got sick of having such a loser kid draining their bank accounts.

How is it not a social justice faux-pas to "out" someone for their prior mental health/addiction issues?

Furthermore, I've held off on saying this for awhile, but fuck it. How does one get addicted to Ambien anyway? You take an Ambien, it hits you like a fucking freight train, and you pass out. That's it. There's no come up, come down, nothing. You swallow it, 20 minutes later you're asleep.

I have actually had the effect hit me, but not knock me out. So let me be clear: You DO NOT trip. You DO NOT feel relaxed or at ease. You feel nothing. You are awake, with full motor control, and most of your cognitive abilities. You will have zero recollection of what you are doing, but will be able to do normal things. That's the problem, and the danger. You might drive your car, tell your boss what you really think, or, in my case, try to cook yourself some chili and nearly burn your house down.

It's why I stopped taking the stuff (which I was prescribed!). Again, there's no pleasure from it, no "escape" from the terrible reality of "being in the closet" as John says, none of that. You either take it and pass out, or take it and think you passed out, but hear about what you did later from others.

In fact, when I got it prescribed, it was specifically because it was the least habit forming or addictive option, according to my doctor. This was before they had Lunesta, which I believe has now surpassed it in that regard. But it's supposed to be non-habit-forming by design and aside from the fact you'll end up depending on it to fall asleep (but duh, you were an insomniac anyway) but you can't abuse it to get high.

So his story about being "addicted to Ambien" seems like complete bullshit. Having followed John for awhile now, I bet he did enter treatment for it, but probably because he was such a fuckup, he had to find something to blame his failures on, chose "Ambien addiction" (like he later chose "I'm a woman!") and got naive Dr. Daddy Joel to cut a check for the "rehab" hoping for a chance at a clean slate from all his prior fuckups.

If the only escape from being John Flynt was the sweet embrace of ambien-addled sleep, I would take so much ambien that I'd make Rip Van Winkle look like an amateur.

Yeah, I came to post pretty much this. If you were John, wouldn't you have the temptation to just take an "Autopilot Pill" and literally sleepwalk through the day, rather than face it yourself? Especially if you were a total spaz to begin with, so no one would even notice the difference? I absolutely believe John could be hooked on such a drug.

John. You really have no idea what you're saying, do you?

I think each time Wu is tweeting about a new topic, she recently either read an article, or listened to an audio book/podcast about that stuff, and now she thinks she is an expert on that matter. Or Frank did and she is just parroting what he said.
A list of lies so fucking transparent that you're in danger of walking right through them if you don't know they're there.

You gotta wonder why she isn't tweeting a more recent image of that car she is so proud of.

I don't know if you got court-martialled and shot in 90s and 00s America, because you were a bisexual woman, but around here being a bisexual woman was as dramatic as preferring Pepsi over Coke.

"John! Do you know how EXPENSIVE this rehab center is? I am paying for it, you are going there and you won't come back home until they release you as treated."
"But that would mean that I am HOMELESS!"

How is it not a social justice faux-pas to "out" someone for their prior mental health/addiction issues?
Because there are no rules, no laws or anything to use as a moral compass. It is purely about who is the most upset and loudest. That's who gets to make the rules. Of course Wu is usually yelling at an empty room so he's the loudest.
