Precisely. The democratic party has had its ass thoroughly reamed in 2016 and it is in no mood to fuck around with pretenders who will pull votes away from them.

Lets put it this way. Lynch has been a Congressman for 16 years. That's 16 years of building democratic donor networks, roots in the local communities, powerful networks for local, state and national democratic candidates. If Briana Wu wins, that vanishes overnight. Completely. What do they get in return? An identity politics candidate who is insane, inexperienced and will have no interest in rebuilding their power. Not to mention chasing causes that have 0 chances of garnering interest.

The Democratic machine will crush Wu when the time comes, because they really can't afford the hit to them. If it has more patience for identity politics, then the party itself is completely fucked if its willing to upend a 16 year vet for an insane nobody who will make them look all the more like a laughingstock.

Why do hack journalists keep bringing up the 100 death threats Bri got like it's some sort of shocking and unheard of phenomenon? I bet I've racked up nearly three times that amount playing COD and Battlefield online.

I know for a fact he won't get elected, but probably because when presented with a choice, voters in that district will probably go "hmm, who is this Brianna Wu person and why should I vote for them let me just google that na-........oh."

The first google results do not paint a good picture (literally, the sidebar image results are uh, not positive), despite the lolcow wiki being on the bottom of the second page of incognito results.
 
Don't know if this has been addressed, sorry if it has, but I find it hilarious how Bri criticizes McCaskill for thinking that they are being entitled to a senate seat, shortly after tweeting about the need for public financing for elections.
