He does this for three four reasons:

1. He is drawing on the stereotype that software engineers, including women, are ugly trolls and he was just fitting in.
2. He can imply that he really is a software engineer
3. He looked arguably better during his "godzilla of tech" phase than his more recent congressional canidate phase.
4. It's harder to use the excuse of "I didn't care how I looked" when you're running for congress, and during that time he complained about having to get his hair and makeup done which obviously didn't help.

But what he is really saying here is that all his passion about hair, makeup, and nails is a lie, along with his claims that this passion makes him a woman. He only started caring when he publicly came out, and he was "forced" to act feminine. At some point in the last couple of weeks Wu put five minutes of half-hearted effort in to making the Dollcast website. BEHOLD!

It's one of Wu's squarespace specials, because Wuman in tech y'all. Wu didn't even completely finish filling in the template. The socials links all point to squarespace accounts plus the spotify and iTunes links are just links to the front page of the respective sites, rather than the actual show. Internal links are just 404s, and of course there's no RSS feed. Why even bother if you're not going to try at all?

Also, I just figured out why we'll never see episodes 1-3 of the Dollcast. It's because they happened pre-surgery when Wu wasn't a proper "Doll" so Wu will never release the footage.
