Oh, she's doing the "Civil War was about freeing slaves" meme while ignoring that a) Delaware and Kentucky continued practicing slavery until the 13th Amendment was ratified and b) Abe's Proclamation was only declaring that Confederacy slaves were 'free'... likely so they would flee to the Union where they would be taken as slaves. The idea that "Abe lead the Civil War to wipe out slavery because he thought it was mean and sheeeeeeeeet" is one of the most damaging lies to get pumped into the head of every child. So much for Yale if you need a fucking leaf to explain the history of your own country.

It is strangely appropriate that John received his MRS degree at a science fiction convention and not at a university. The only thing more fitting would have been Frank proposing while he and John were embracing next to the statue of Hastur the Unspeakable at Ole Miskatonic.

I'm curious about the numbers and their breakdown.

Its probably has more to do with classes going back to physical and a big spike in enrollments over COVID times; Several states let you collect unemployment while you are enrolled in an educational program, and even red states like Tennessee let anyone under I think its 25 go to community college for better-than-free. So I'd guess that numbers were artificially high.

Also if 662,000 is a 5% loss, that still ~14 million students, which is about 5% of the national population. That's a lot of minds getting CRT indoctrination.
