And John is so ignorant about the topic that he doesn't even know that failure rates are measured per some unit of time, frequently per year. Talking about a "failure rate of .1 [sic] percent" is meaningless.

Also, a real engineer would write "0.1 percent" -- as would a real journalist (it's in the damned AP Stylebook).

Yeah, exactly. The usual figure of merit is MTBF (mean time between failures). But it all depends on context. That's something an actual engineer would know. Hell, I know it, and I'm not at all in current practice.

I guess he does go for 100% in quality : I understand the port of revolution 60 had a failure rate of 100% (game breaking bug at the end from what I hear - no patch ever released)
