Brianna Wu has been tormented by online trolls for three years. It started in 2014, when Wu spoke up to defend women in the gaming industry, only to find herself plunged into a roiling controversy called Gamergate that turned her life upside down. The threats of rape and murder hurled at her online became so scary that she and her husband fled their home. To this day, they live in a new location under an alias. But sometimes the trolls still manage to track her down, and online harassment becomes an off-line ambush.
“They found our address and smashed a window of my house. Threw a brick right through it,” Wu told me in April 2017, when I reached her by phone at a number she instructed me never to share. At the time we spoke, the window was still shattered.
The online attacks, like the one perpetrated on Wu, began and gathered force on sites like 4chan, Twitter, and Reddit, the largely unmonitored town halls of the web. All of these sites allow or encourage anonymity and pseudonymity, as well as a laissez-faire approach to free speech, in keeping with the long-standing libertarian ethos of the internet. All of them have tolerated years of online harassment of women.

Being in a dog show is certainly better than being one of John's dogs, dying outside in the winter while your owner obsessively tweets all night long, only finding you dead in the morning.

Incapable of talking like a normal human. Relies on others to buy food, buy the bills, and keep him in toys. They’d have even more in common if somebody took a sharpie, wrote “dog” on the side of a cat and entered it in a dog show.

This person has all the hallmarks of being a very John-like con artist, starting with a sketchy academic background and a fake name that prevents anyone from checking on zher past. Also claims to be "queer" and spends more time than most defending trannies. Gets glowing media coverage from the same outlets that assure readers that John is a tech genius and cybersecurity expert.

In this case, Jess Phoenix appears to be a real person. Goucher acknowledges her existence and it appears she actually drove into a fire to rescue horses. I think this is a normal person who isn't particularly photogenic who Wu is trying to glom onto, normal behavior for this particular parasite.

Wu would say she rescued horses from a fire in her Porsche, the horses complimented her on her Porsche and what a badass grrrrrrl she is and who they're going to vote for her in the primary, and that she drove Gamergate horses into the fire where they gladly embraced the purification of the flames to atone for their crimes against humanity. And then Madeline Albright showed up and gave Wu a medal to give the True America Person Award, her 5th such medal.
