lol the first and only time John mentions his father in a positive light is when he is trying to steal the old man's valor. All the other times John is unrepentantly shitting on his old man, never thanking him for +500k of wasted startup money, 10 yrs college tuition, 30+ years tolerating embarrassing antics of homogay son, etc.

There's so much bullshit here to break down.

30 to 40 hours minimum? Bullshit. I got maybe 10 to 15 hours training to operate an F88 Austeyr for the ADF Reserves. That includes cleaning, handling and firing.
5.56mm is a pretty small round and it's not even designed with killing people in mind. It was designed to pierce soft-skinned vehicles, which means it tends to go in and out of flesh quite neatly. If you want to see a bullet that'll fuck you up look at 7.62mm.
People have already pointed out that voting only works if you're allowed to vote, or the government actually gives a shit about who you vote for.
Likewise, there are miles of text on why a popular uprising could very easily cripple the US government and the military can only do so much. I'm not going to reiterate here but to summerise: Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria.

Love how he can brag about field stripping a Glock one day, then fear monger about guns the next.

And is he seriously arguing guns only belong in hands of the military in a democratic country founded on the idea that letting the military take guns away from the common man is fucking stupid?

We fought a war to prevent such a recurrence of that shit because we didn't like it when the British pulled that stunt and founded a country with a key prevision against it ever happening again.

I think he's doing the "fudd" thing where boomer liberal gun owners in favor of gun control claim that the law abiding citizen should only be allowed to own handguns, shotguns, and bolt action rifles, with no semi-auto rifles having magazines greater than five rounds capacity. No "assault weapon" aka, nothing that looks tactical, scary, military in nature regardless of all practical factors. So no black-polymer pistol-grip AR-15, but Mini-14 with wooden furniture and five round mag is ok, even though it's basically the same thing in terms of killing power, just dressed up differently.

I think John takes his limitations as universal and seeks to impose them on others by force.

Which... Good luck doing that when you can't handle a fucking .22, John, you disgrace.
John's got a massive ego and will quickly declare himself an expert on any given thing being discussed. Of course he thinks that if he can't do it, then no one could possibly. Unless that other person was a stronk womyn that he's trying to suck up to.

To start with, forcing people to do what you tell them under thread of violence is the government's MO, the whole reason I would be in favour of US style arming of the population for everyone is exactly the fact that if it's good for one group to have that right then it must be good for all groups to have that right. If we are going to pick and choose about who does and doesn't have certain rights then you don't have a government, you have an aristocracy.

Second of all, all across Europe you have governments that just disregard what the people vote for. Right now in the UK, they voted on leaving the EU, and politicians didn't want to do it so they're just not doing it. The popular vote was in favour of leaving, but the parliament basically say "Sorry, we thought you were going to return the result we wanted, so instead of acting in the will of the people we're just go to dither about until you either cave in, or we "change" government and can pretend that it's off the table now"

No one gives a fuck about the nuances of your retrograde Nazi opinion, full stop.

Wow, John must be high as a kite and mad as a hornet. Posting angry rebuttals on Twitter at 4:30 a.m.

And he's serving up such weak sauce. Common, well-known facts about guns -- which John doesn't know -- are dismissed as "trivia." And his factual errors are actually the truth because he thinks that anything he claims happened in his lifetime cannot be questioned.

I think we're about to see Twitter ban a few more people who have dared to correct John Walker Wu.

"With respect, this is my own life and I can promise you I understand it better than you."

Translation: How dare you mansplain to me, a true woman, by bringing up facts.

I wish I could remember the study DOD did that reached the same conclusion. In it, every scenario in which the military tries to control a mass rebellion in this country by force is doomed to failure because of guerilla tactics, and because a large number of troops are expected to defect to join their friends and family on the side of the rebellion.

Gosh, John, didn't you even learn about what happens when the scrappy rebel alliance fights the galactic empire in Star Wars? Know your history.

"It shoots a 5.56mm bullet and you can feel the wind three feet behind the shooter. This guns is very hard to control." - fucking what?

To put the cartridges into perspective, 5.56x45mm NATO is pretty much a .223 Remington and is surprisingly small, feeling winds three feet behind the guy shooting though...
The much larger 7.62x51mm NATO is a .308 Winchester, commonly used for hunting moose and such.
The M-16 uses the 5.56 ammo for various reason, as do loads of modern firearms from hunting rifles to military gear, hunting rifles and older weapons like the AK-47 went with the bigger and heavier cartridge.

To my point, I've shot a 7.62 combat rifle full auto and it was more comfortable than a hunting rifle shooting the same ammunition or a shotgun and it wasn't hard to control, neither did I notice the winds around 20 people firing G3's.

I think he's doing the "fudd" thing where boomer liberal gun owners in favor of gun control claim that the law abiding citizen should only be allowed to own handguns, shotguns, and bolt action rifles, with no semi-auto rifles having magazines greater than five rounds capacity. The Mini-14 with a magazine was what Anders Behring Breivik used to kill 69 people and it was always the go-to gun for The A-team, but they didn't kill people.

The only way that happens is if they install one hell of a muzzle brake on the AR. Given the lack of recoil, I have no idea why anyone would bother.

Sorry for gun sperging, but the way you wrote this, it sounds as if the AK-47 used the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge. It didn't. It chambered the 7.62x39mm cartridge, which, while probably more powerful than the 5.56x45mm, is a sight less powerful than the NATO round.

One of those bolt action rifles is the most dangerous gun in the world though. One popularly called the Mannlicher-Carcano can even shoot bullets that turn around inside a dude and come out and shoot an entirely different dude.
