Another quarter of the politician Wu elapses. It's getting exciting now.

Two months left to go until Wu's day Tuesday, after which she'll either (hopefully) still be an unemployed and unemployable loser, or (god help us) defacto congresswuman for the 8th district.

There's an FEC report due in the next two weeks which promises to be an exciting one. It's her biggest fundraising quarter since Q1 2017, and quite possibly her biggest ever. Just how big remains to be seen. She has been spending on some campaign-like things, which makes a change. There's also some chance she may have new staff she's exploiting, and there might be some laughable spending on personal items.

After that, there's a pre-primary report due in late August, then probably a wrap up report in October and that's all she wrote for Wu's political career.
All sorts to look forward to before Wu has to come up with a new career path to entertain us.

In any event, two of them were sentenced to death, one of them has been executed, and the other was sentenced to life imprisonment. From John's bullshit, you'd think they'd built statues of them or some shit.

Ramos had a personal beef against the paper, had a lawsuit against them tossed, and -- I gotta stress this part -- was crazy as a shithouse rat. His politics, whatever they were, had much less to do with what he did than the fact he was a full-blown whackadoo everyone expected to turn violent sooner or later.

Per Wikipedia (yeah, I know, take it with a grain of salt), "Byrd's lynching-by-dragging gave impetus to passage of a Texas hate crimes law." I don't think it became a hate crime until after the perps were sentenced.

I gave the benefit of doubt and counted it as a lynching -- as it was mostly reported as such, albeit a horizontal one.

The lynching of Michael Donald in 1981 was often referred to in the press as "the last lynching in America". Maybe Byrd's attackers took that as a challenge.

I may have known someone in California that went for five years sending the DMV photoshopped insurance papers with no issues. Of course, if they had been in an accident there would have been a problem, but that didn’t happen. The DMV can access and verify insurance data directly now, so I don’t think that would fly anymore.

Man, if nothing else shows she's from a rich bubble in Mississippi, that car bullshit does. Mississippi is chock-full of gleefully uninsured drivers, unofficially it's like 3/4 of all cars. He and his parents might have paid their car insurance but I'd be willing to bet none of the maids did.
