I went and read the article. Jacie's entire account of supposed mistreatment by the police seems to be based on the idea that she, as an interested party, can dictate to the police (who are supposed to be objective investigators) how they do their job and force them to charge people with crimes that the police do not feel they can prove
(sound familiar? we'll get to Wu again shortly)- including at a traffic accident for fuck's sake.
This actually happens a lot at collisions where someone will demand a cop write someone a ticket for something when the cop didn't see it and,even if he knows it happened, has discretion over what he's signing his name to in a charging document\citation. Cops can decide
not to write tickets and charge people for some very good reasons (and some reasons that are to avoid paperwork). Not to mention the fact that writing someone a citation is not necessary to determine fault in a collision, but they want punishment beyond just getting their car repaired. This happens and people get pissed off when they don't get their way even when they are as cis as the day is long. When you're having multiple incidents where entire police departments- and independent lawyers- are trying to ignore you, you're probably the problem, not transphobia.
And of course here we bring it back to Brianna Wu who shares the same trait with Jacie in believing that the FBI, police, AG's office and everyone else should just listen and believe
(and punish people accordingly, presumably). I would so love to see Wu as the defendent in a civil or criminal action where he'd immediately seek to take advantage of all the benefits that accused parties get.
