I love John's predictable emotional fragility. His keynote speech on Friday was obviously to a nearly empty room - a complete failure. He didn't mention that speech at all, instead tardraging about a black man (of course) who called him on his nonsense almost a year ago.

But because he had a Q&A before today's fashion show, a lot more people (though still small in absolute numbers) were probably there to give him attention. Now he can't stop yapping about his "amazing" "extemporaneous" talk this morning. Even the slightest attention triggers his boundless ego.

An actual professional would have thanked his host for the opportunity to come speak on Friday, regardless of attendance. The school can't help it if they made a massive error in choosing some never-been moronic nobody whose brief "moment" came and went a year ago. No sane, knowledgable young art student is going to pay $15 to sit and listen to a mendacious idiot on a beautiful Friday night in autumn.

John is an extra-special kind of asshole for then tweeting "It's not about me", when that's all it ever is with him.

Talking about John's ego is old hat for anyone who's been reading this topic for more than a week, but this one just takes the goddamn cake. Just go and make a quick Google search of figures who have spoken at college graduations, say. American presidents, heads of states from around the world, beloved religious leaders, major figures in science, the arts, politics, social activism, sports, and entertainment - yep, listen up assholes, because John has advice for ALL OF YOU.

Perfect tweet for you, John. It melds your shallow trendiness with your nonstop persecution complex. Also rounds out nicely with your right-wing anti-government personality that never went away.

Makes me feel better that airport security knows a dangerous psycho when they see one. Too bad you chopped off your "anomaly". Could have had some extra special victimization points there. You must be so envious of Dan Petosky for pulling off an effective guerilla marketing event.

It's the fucking airport. Shouldn't everyone know by now that you don't give attitude about the security check if you don't want it to be a hundred times worse?
I bet she actually does get all indignant at security, probably even asking them "do you know who I am?!" and tossing in some line about them thinking she's Middle Eastern.

Please tell me that I'm being trolled. Please. I'm almost out of gin.

This is SUCH bullshit. Does every trans person change their name so dramatically? Wouldnt some just go, i dunno, maybe from "brian" to "brianna"? I know most create a new identity, I guess, but not everyone tries to hide their former goof-ass identity like wu does. Not everyone needs a second chance at life because they've burned so many bridges.

By this same logic, calling a married woman by her maiden name makes you a Grand Exalted Cyclops in the Klan.

The airport doesn't serve Soylent, John.

So today, a big battery of updates (and corrections, thanks @AnOminous). Added new updates to Rev60, improvements to main, added a new section and even a (massive) new sub-article.

Whenever I profile a lolcow, there's always something critical I look for.

That thing is an element of tragedy. Something to humanize who we're profiling and explain why it's important to learn from their mistakes.

Today, I finally found Wu's. Thanks a lot, Derek Smart.

The tragedy of Wu is thus: She was warned.

Repeatedly.

She was given a heads-up of her doing this to herself well in advance, and she was warned of what was coming. Not once - not twice - but hundreds of times, by everyone from GethN7 to Derek Smart, to say nothing of countless followers of hers. Smart had the balls to give it to her straight: "if you go down this route, you will become little more than a mockery," and Wu, in her infinite wisdom, blocked him for it. The sheer, balls out hubris of Brianna Wu is right there, under accusations of "mansplaining."

Thing was? Smart was right. Had Wu done as he recommended, none of us would be in this thread right now. There wouldn't be a 650-page thread on Brianna Wu, there wouldn't be a Lolcow Wiki article chronicling her descent into irrelevance, there wouldn't be people treating her as the massive joke she currently is.

That's a lesson, Kiwis, I feel everyone should learn.

Well to be completely fair I wouldn't take Derek Smart's advice either.

I would. Say what you will about him being an asshole - you'll be right - but his advice on this is fucking sound. The guy has been fighting trolls since the dark ages of the Internet, I'm inclined to believe that he knows how to deal with online harassers.

A couple of notes on the TSA BS.
  1. This is John. John is a compulsive liar. It's highly suspicious that he all of a sudden claims TSA "harassment" on the heels of another tranny getting mass media attention for the same claim. John has flown plenty of times in the past year and he wants us to believe he's been hassled multiple times just during this trip and not before? It's the same playbook he always uses, so it's inadvisable to take at face value, just like anything he says.
  2. John brought 150 packets of coffee on a one week trip. Coffee is commonly used to mask the scent of illicit drugs. So even if he actually did get a full public search from TSA, it's entirely rational. No one drinks twenty cups of coffee a day. The TSA doesn't know he's just a batshit crazy tranny who does completely idiotic things.
  3. Bitching about being patted down publicly is BS because everyone is entitled to have that done in private, by an agent of a gender you choose, and witnessed by a third non-TSA party of one's choosing.
  4. John's "cola incident" is very likely not as he portrayed it. It's quite possible he made a very public scene in-flight. That'll get you flagged for any future flights.
