But actually it wasn't a suggestion it was stated as fact. Additionally, the article is extremely hostile to the reader, the point of LWu's article was to elicit an angry response from the readers. If you express your opinion in a rude way, then be ready to be treated equally, meaning that the conclusion of your "question" is irrelevant.

Replace the words "gamer(s)" with "feminist(s)" and you'll have some of the most truthful comments ever.
Also, John, funny that you say "Games. The things we used to spend time doing?" When you and your ilk have single-handedly taken away the spotlight from gaming, to focus on shit like "Samus is a transgender" "This female character is too scantily clad" "This female character is too skinny and busty" "This female character doesn't cater to our SJW insecurities" to the point of creators being bullied into limiting their creativity and making their characters fit people like Flynt's world view. Gamergate's motto is somewhat "Just play the damn games and quit being ninnies about fucking everything."

Okay, I dug more through the DM archives from 1996-1998 that were in the Wayback Machine.

August's archives are incomplete and nearly inaccessible. September's archives are more missing than there. No works by Flynt show up at all, but I must repeat that the record is spotty. (There was a drag pageant in September 1997. I so wanted to see that one to see if Flynt covered it.)

October 1997 records are spotty. Usually all I have is the front page article, and opinion writers bylines. A few issues are nearly complete. Still, no Flynt at all in October.

November: exactly the same as October.

December: only 5 issues (classes end on December 8). Nothing by Flynt.

January 1998! Only 7 issues. No Flynt, but there are lots of missing articles.

I have a feeling Flynt will only show up again in February 1998 for a few things. That is why he says he was at the position from 6.1997 to 2.1998.

I'm attacking February now, and the archives are feeling more complete. . .

. . . Nothing.

Nothing in February. Nothing since two photos in July.

Then it was followed by a bout of Wikipedia vandalism where that shitbag kadybat spewed obscenities at Wikipedia admins.
