Notice how the one in the back is still pretty sexualised, add this to the reasons as to why I think that one is her actual self insert, I think Holiday is meant to be someone else maybe someone she actually doesn't like too much seen as isn't she a drunk bitch in Socially Unconscious and Holiday is a bit of a bitch too.
I don't think Brianna sees Holiday as being bitchy though. Her perspective of women is very warped and it shows in both her writing and her behavior.

The whole thing was written to be as confrontational and clickbait-ey as possible. If someone wants to headcanon Samus as trans, more power to them. My opinion of the original article would be a lot different if the idea was "Hey, wouldn't it be cool to interpret Samus as trans?" rather than "Samus is obviously trans and anyone who disagrees is a transphobe.” Then when the haters come flocking, she plays the victim card for sympathy from her white knights. It’s disgusting.

The problem is that "Hey, wouldn't it be cool to interpret Samus as trans?" isn't as clickbaity and divisive, and other people have done it already. Pretty much declaring "SAMUS IS TRANS GET OVER IT YOU CISHIT SHITLORDS" draws far more attention.

Bingo.

Step 1: Sperg out for attention.

Step 2: Hide behind feminism when called out for being a sperg.

Step 3: Profit!

Wu trying to suck up to an avowed neutral journalist. Fucker is trying to curry his favor discreetly, exactly what GGers are pissed at game devs for doing.

Going to be getting some sleep soon, you guys will have to take over for awhile. IRL stuff, playing MGS5 TPP, and constantly monitoring of this idiot are wearing me out.

As the resident only-guy-who-will-defend-Wu's character designs, I need to chime in here:

New Holiday is shit.

First, let's ignore that she's taking a hatchet to her own characters with this design and doing the WE MUST DESEXUALIZE THIS CHARACTER after saying she's sex-positive and that Holiday is an empowerment fantasy, because (A) I'm cool with that, and (B) I believe strongly that content creators shouldn't change shit to appeal to people at the expense of the greater work. Likewise, let's ignore the obvious (Old Holiday's outfit looking like Miranda Lawson's).

Instead, let's look at the main changes. All the new stuff Wu added was externally added armor. Holiday has the same skeletal mesh, same overall proportions. The changes were a waist you could easily overlook and added body armor. There's a bunch of reasons this is dumb, but I'm going to get into the three big ones below:
  1. It takes away from what made Holiday stand out in the first place. Old Holiday's appearance was Mass-Effect-y, sure, but it looked like nothing else in Revolution 60. Her outfit, mostly white, was distinctive and had a very specific presence in Revolution 60's environments, which tended to be extremely bright and complex. One thing Wu has down pat is color theory, and Holiday's outfit is very visually appealing because of that. New Holiday has armor that's desperately trying to stay as close to Old Holiday's design as possible, but sacrificed the color scheme that made Holiday work so well visually.
  2. It doesn't change the biggest issue Holiday had, which is that her outfit wasn't bad, it's that everyone else's is incongruent with the setting. That wasn't Holiday's fault, it was Min and Amelia's, and they should have been the ones changed, not Holiday, since Holiday actually looked like she belonged in the setting.
  3. Take a close fucking look at the environment design in Wu's screenshot. This indicates that Wu might be doing the unthinkable and making the backgrounds less loud and obvious. This may seem like a good thing, but it also, again, fucks with the visual style Wu was going for.
New Holiday is fucking generic compared to the Old, and comes across as pandering of the worst sort.

Luckily Holiday's name hasn't changed, though, because I find it very appropriate - John has been on nonstop summer vacation for the last fifteen years or so.

Nice job with the lighting, Banana! Now we can really tell that your abominations don't have human-looking faces.
Also, lol. Really? "Thanks for making us better, feminists!" YOU'RE supposed to be a feminist, you complete moron. Yet here you are covering your cardboard women up instead of empowering them by making them badasses who dress however they want.

All of these are great & valid points, but I think the thing that irks me the most about the armor---besides the fact that it's blatantly ripped from another game---is that the level of detail doesn't even match up. "What the hell are you talking about, Boldy?" you may be asking. Well, let me see if I can explain this through draws.
Let's pretend, for the sake of argument, that I'm a video game character.

Check out my body positivity & how thick my neck is! AUGH YEAH

Now, since I'm in a video game, I'm gonna need some sweet armor.
armor2.png

NOW WHO'S THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH

But wait! Fans are saying my armor isn't realistic enough! I should make some improvements.

Check out how seamlessly the armor meshes with my drawing style. Thanks, Brianna!

Might be a bit nitpicky, but one thing that irks me is how pale Holiday's skin is.

It's like she came out of Commander Keen.

BOLDYSPICY is credit to Farms

She probably doesn't, she just knows it's a lightning rod that she can hold onto to attract GG attention.

The problem with that is one thing the fool doesn't seem to have taken into account: the mass amounts of trans people he pissed off in the process, and when you consider how many of them are SJWs or merely sympathetic.......

1. Brianna is fixated on Samus for one reason or another. I think she's drawn to the general idea of what Samus is (badass woman bounty hunter in space) and that Zero Suit look only helps since it plays to her women in form-fitting clothes fetish. Now that I think about it, Holiday in Rev60 is basically an expy of Samus only blander and way less likable. Considering that Holiday is (one of) Brianna's self-inserts, I think it's clear what is going on.

2. Brianna is desperate for anything that can make her a credible cultural icon so she can continue to do lectures, podcasts, conventions, or whatever and basically be paid to to talk about herself. It's her only real passion.

3. Wu feeds on any sort of attention, positive or negative. The negative attention from this article in particular is enough to fuel her cries of being oppressed for at least two more months.

Pure conjecture here, but I'm beginning to wonder if Wu feels conflicted with the idea of revealing her trans status. She knows it goes against everything she believes and has said in the past, but it would be a potential untapped well for oppression points and perhaps more stupid fluff pieces from her friends. However, the revelation would likely backfire and be something the parts of the SJW community that absolutely loathe her could use to finally excommunicate her sorry ass. If that Samus article had been a success, she could have used that as the foundation to build to the reveal.

My take, based on your points:

1. John is a pervert with a totally fetishizied view of women whether he admits it or not, so this is quite possibly true.

2. This largely backfired. Sure, Wu picked up some asspatters, but the fact she tried to cozy up to Eric Kain (a respected neutral) almost immediately after means on some level, this dumbass realizes he lost more than he gains and it trying to mitigate the damage. Thankfully, it's not working.

3. Wu is really getting desperate and its really obvious even to all but his most deluded white knights: the rape/death threats are nonexistent, even most SJWs who are even slightly reasonable aren't buying that anymore, only the fringe loonies. Also, Wu is really terrified of having that Patreon go down, so either Wu leaned on some of her puppets to keep it above 3K to deny her enemies a chance to gloat about it dropping, or the fringe assholes are only going more rabid and propping him up so they don't have to admit to themselves they chose the wrong crazy tranny to side with. Also, this whole incident has caused a civil war in the SJW community, with many of the saner trans types who actually do give the slightest shit about their cause (and not just milking it for money/pity) being redpilled into seeing Wu is an unstable, arrogant asshole who is poison as a representative.
