She's such a typical SJW: a white person telling other white people how to "handle" minorities.

Brianna's Q&A did an amazing job of not only avoiding answers but actually insulting the people who asked the questions.

"How did you afford to make a game?"
"Renovated a relative's house"

"How did you learn to program?"
"WHOA! This feels like a trap"

Most of the information she gives has NOTHING to do with the questions yet somehow stay on the topic of her and answering things that were never asked. It's like asking someone what their name is but instead you get ten minutes of rambling that reveal what their shoe size was in the 2nd grade and what they had for lunch three weeks ago.

Also any question that did not have a clear answer to this point was totally ignored, and the only things that were answered were things no one cared about or were done in a "if you don't accept my answer, you're the enemy" sort of way.

If that were an actual press conference on live TV, it would be a pretty embarrassing performance.

John hates police, especially those who enforce restraining orders.

Also, I didn't know closing one's eyes is racism, John. Apparently the act of sleeping or blinking is racially unjust. Thank you for enlightening us with your boundless wisdom, as always.

Now can you tell us more about what you meant when you yelled "raghead" and "sand n****r" at Dr. Husni?

Daily Mississippian Editor said:
The first time I met him, I was the opinion editor at The Daily Mississippian, and I turned to see this creepy fuck standing behind me. I shook his hand, and he pulled it away, saying “oowwww.” He then explained that he’d broken his wrist in a bicycle accident that had almost killed him and had given him amnesia. He explained that he wanted to be a columnist and that he had previously worked for George W. Bush in the white house but that he had since realized how retarded and evil all conservatives were. About this time my phone started ringing, and I politely ignored it while I talked to this guy. Then it rang again, and again until I answered. It was the managing editor, who had ducked behind the front desk and was whispering, “stay calm, and don’t react to this, but this guy isn’t supposed to be here. He has a restraining order. Get rid of him.”

By this point, I was concerned the guy might knife me at any moment; so I told him to write me three columns and that I’d evaluate them and get back to him on whether he could write for me. (I’m still proud of my ability to remain poised and convincingly pretend that the Daily Mississippian had any fucking standards.)

Turns out, a year prior, he’d come in wanting the Daily Mississippian to run a comic strip that he was doing. When he was told they weren’t interested, he flipped out. He called one of the workers a fat dyke, and when Dr. Husni came to her defense, he called him a “raghead” and a “sand nigger.” They got a restraining order to keep him away from Farley, but when they moved to Bishop, it no longer applied, and he was actually able to weasel back in to working for the SMC."

That's not how Law Enforcement remembers it.

Ask and ye shall recieve.

Lies! "Socially Unconscious" was a massive comic strip success story. Take it away, John:

"Socially Unconscious debuted as a four panel comic strip at the Daily Mississippian in the summer of 1998. Gaining popularity, it was soon syndicated to 11 newspapers. The funds to turn it into a movie soon followed and the SOCCON team spent 2 years and $150,000. The sequel, called Election Eve has been optioned as a novel."

I love the perfect blend of specificity and vagueness of this old tale of John's. He's still using the same playbook.

So good that people in the media take this transparently compulsive liar at his word.

This was....telling. Bribri is generally dodgy like a politician, but with more self-aggrandizement than any politico would indulge in, and of course the odd personal detail which reveals the uniquely solipsistic world view of mrs. wu.

File under Tooting-one's-own-horn:

-"the FBI has asked me not to comment on the specifics of ongoing cases"
(Combo platter of Brianna's insider-jargon-love and I-know-important-peeples-you-guize!)

-"...the month before I was dragged into the mess..."
(Brianna H. Christ, martyr, forced into GG at spearpoint against her will!)

-"ambitious company"..."prestigious network"..."more conference invites than I could accept"..."extremely pragmatic"..."game as ambitious as Revolution 60"
(Wow. laying it on a bit thick, no? Bear in mind that the invite bit was PRE-GG according to the humble Wu)

-"I think my record as someone whose first game won several game of the year awards speaks for itself. I think my two popular shows on Relay.FM where I am an industry analyst on technical issues speaks for itself."
(Bit defensive there, Wu? This bit in response to whether she sees herself primarily as dev or journo)

File under weird, personal non-sequiturs:

-" I spent hundreds of hours removing this horrible wallpaper from the 40s. I had to wear a hazmat suit and a respirator to encapsulate asbestos in the basement"
(Poor Brianna! We sympathize; hazmat gear is required to sift through your twitter! But this was in response to a question about Giant Spayed Kat's funding....and what was the deal with the wallpaper? Pickle pattern?)

Anyway, the overall impression is that the "interview" was finessed for maximum positive PR for Wu, and it reads with the same sort of casual arrogance that makes Wu such an unlikable blowhard.

I'm still not 100% on how the renovating the house bit even answers the question at all? Is it supposed to suggest they just had enough money kicking around to making the game, and renovating the house meant they didn't have to spend it on a house?

Yeah, that was unclear to me as well. So, unspent rent = game funding? I guess. Apparently, Wu will do as much as she can to avoid the discussion of the mismanaged $ from Mommy and Daddy.

And this idea that, "A family relative offered us the chance to live in Frank’s grandmother’s house for free if we renovated it"... I mean, Okay I suppose, but it's as though Brianna wants to use the manual labor to mitigate the free house, as if it wasn't really free because she had to peel off the Vlasic Pickle Stork wallpaper.

Oh, and..."So, I can’t talk specifically about all of our funding"....uh, why not? Another FBI request?

Oh, and..."So, I can’t talk specifically about all of our funding"....uh, why not? Another FBI request?

Because it was either free money from the Bank of Mom and Dad or it's shady as fuck, or a combination thereof.

I think I say this once every three pages or so but it's unbelievable that anyone has any iota of respect for a transparent liar. "Listen and believe" indeed.

Hey Wu, I'm actually quite passionate about police reform too. Do you have any actual suggestions other than horseshit platitudes like "demand it" and "make this a priority"?

I'm calling bullshit on Wu's winning multiple GOTY awards. Sorry, but that faggotry isn't going to fly with this particular asshole:

Jaimas Rev60 Article said:
Revolution 60 has received remarkably high praise for what is, by all accounts, a staggeringly mediocre title with a lot of promise and an equally large number of problems. Analysis has gradually yielded the remarkable discovery that the overpowering majority of the game's best reviews come from outlets where Brianna Wu has personal friends of hers. In fact, there is shockingly few reviews of Revolution 60 that are heavily praise-worthy online that aren't from associates of Brianna Wu's. The game enjoys a shockingly low 2.4 aggregate user score on Metacritic, whilst at the same time boasting a 74 critic aggregate score. Whilst some of the low user scores are doubtlessly individuals with an axe to grind, the bulk of them are holding the game to account for being a slipshod mess.

In an effort to shine light on how Revolution 60 could simultaneously have such a low user score whilst also boasting such a high critic score, this article will detail what relationship to Brianna Wu the critics giving the game its highest scores have to the head of Giant Spacekat Studios.

iMore
iMore gave Revolution 60 its Action Game of the Year award. This award has been repeatedly trumpeted as one of the game's seminal accomplishments and is widely considered one of its biggest achievements, listed on the game's Wikipedia page and on Giant Spacekat Studios' own site. What will not be discussed is the circumstances by which Revolution 60 gained this award over other, more qualified titles.

iMore's awards are listed as "editor's choice awards," and it is here that a simple analysis of iMore's editors speaks volumes.

Serenity Caldwell (Managing Editor for IOS content iMore), Georgia Dow (Senior Editor for iMore), Peter Cohen (Managing Editor for Mac content on iMore), and Rene Ritchie (Editor-in-Chief for iMore) are all Brianna Wu's personal friends. Dow herself is one of four co-hosts on the Isometric show on 5by5 - a show that features Brianna Wu as a co-host. All four of these individuals have extensive, long-term involvement with Brianna Wu herself and in-depth friendships as indicated by countless tweets between Brianna Wu and them.[1]

Ironically, this is exactly the sort of corruption #GamerGate started in order to oppose.

148Apps.com
The writer of the Revolution 60 review on 148apps.com is Jordan Minor, who has repeatedly done Q&A Sessions with Brianna Wu in the past.[2] He also works for PC Magazine, which has extensively covered the GamerGate controversy in an openly hostile fashion,[3] and has posited Brianna Wu's most infamous disproven claim as legitimate.

Pocket Gamer UK
Pocket Gamer UK's review of Revolution 60 is written by Craig Grannell, who Brianna Wu is a personal friend of.[4] Brianna Wu has tried to erase tweets suggesting at her conversations with him, but the Internet never forgets.[5]

TouchArcade
TouchArcade gave Revolution 60 a slightly-less glowing 3.5/5, but collusion is collusion: Shaun Musgrave is another associate and long-time Twitter Friend of Brianna Wu's, noted for citing Brianna Wu's previous articles.[6]

Xyo.net
On Xyo.net, a user-driven review site for IOS products, there are over 30 five-star reviews for Revolution 60 that read like press junkets.

TL;DR: The only sites giving Wu glowing praise are ones Wu herself is friends with. The only site I saw give her a glowing review that I couldn't establish a link between Wu and was RPGFan; other high-but-not-insane reviews of note weren't even in English.

When she says GOTY awardS, plural, other than the iMORE one, what other game-of-the-year award did Rev. 60 "win"? I couldn't find anything...

The funny thing is that, when Wu snakes all these "genuine" reviews, they look sooooo much more false because of how over-the-top the praise is. It's like, if she could just modulate the compliments with a tiny bit of humility or at least a suggestion of awareness of faults, the fraudulent or friend-crafted reviews might very well slip under the radar as genuine. Her need to scream "BEST GAME EVA!" from every rooftop makes it seem much more false than an intelligently crafted, modest and self-critiquing review could be.

She defends Holiday's slow-as-molasses walk, fer chrissakes. She can't even admit that the drag-ass, boring saunter through empty hallways is a detriment.

And then, the interview ends with her promise of Virtual Freakin' Reality.

Yes, you heard that right...coming soon:

What the fuck is this shit? "Syndicated to 11 newspapers"? What newspapers?

Why is their abbreviation SOCCON? That's the literal opposite of Socially Unconscious. Geeze Louise.

And the two characters specifically called out as male among the 15 most important characters are named "Sydney" and "Ashley."

If there's any argument to be made that Wu has delusions of grandeur, it's this incident. Socially Unconscious never got off the ground. Indeed, it never got on the runway. To continue the plane metaphor, it exploded in the hangar. Socially Unconscious was so bad JW Flynt couldn't successfully pitch it to a paper with virtually no standards, let alone syndicate the fucking thing. And he spent fucking tons of money on it. Election Eve, the sequel, was basically the same damned premise, but louder.
