I just want to point out that Brianna is on the record as literally saying "OF COURSE everything I write is good, I'm a professional game maker."
Even leaving aside the spelling and grammar issues, this whole thing just reeks of the Chandlerian "Write Once/Read Never" school of authorship. One second Holiday's getting dripped on, the next she's saying the corpses are weeks old and dried out.

Banana, not all women menstruate; many are either too young or too old.

Oh jeez, I bet she gave a stress sigh whenever a dang dirty white male went on stage.

I wonder if Apple is aware Brianna is running a vicious smear campaign against them via liking their products.

Obviously he did not give a damn when Metal was announced because making games for ios is work and work is oppression

It may stray a bit off topic, but Brianna's not the only vocal feminist I've seen complaining about menstruation being neglected by mainstream society. On this fantasy writers' forum I used to frequent, there was this one chick "non-binary" kid* who created a whole thread to bitch about the omission of menstruation in fantasy fiction. Not to mention the whole "free-bleeding" movement...

No, I don't get why menstruation needs any more politicization than any other bodily excretion either.

And what about women who've had their cervix removed for medical reasons? What an incredibly ableist and ageist thing to say, Brianna. Oh, and you don't menstruate either do you? You know, because you don't have a womb. Or ovaries.

Menstruation is about as necessary in fiction as details about characters' bowel movements.

However, I still have a good attitude towards menstruation.

Just imagine if the topic of menstruation was addressed in games...

I feel sorry for the developers who couldn't get tickets. WWDC is heavily over-subscribed, and real developers missed a chance so Wu could use WWDC as a vehicle for her bitterness and attention seeking. Reading her tweets is like following the thought process of a teenager who's trying ever so hard to be funny, and instead comes across as being incredibly awkward and uninformed. From a technical perspective, there could have been an Amish guy in the audience who'd provide a better running commentary of the proceedings.

Not effective on Dave Foley. Seriously though, who cares about flow in fiction? Last time it had bearing on a story was Pitch Black.

If you're worried about realism, I can see giving menstruation a quick mention. Fantasy books are actually pretty good with this, IMO: a throwaway line about "bleeding cloths" or "soothing herbs" acknowledges that these characters have to deal with something irritating and real, but doesn't go into any pointless details. It's like sleep: it's there, but we don't need to watch the protagonist snoring for eight hours.

Speaking as a dang dirty CIS female, though, I don't care if my lady Warden in Dragon Age has to shove a cloth in her underclothes every so often. Having Alistair be unable to hit that four days a month has no bearing on the story. I get enough of "feminine hygiene" in real life, thankyouverymuch.

Also, isn't it kind of ... uh ... sexist ... to characterize women via menstruation?

Brianna's shit at being a woman in general, so why should this be any different? Though, I'm betting that in his mind, he's a gorgeous supermodel with an angelic voice instead of looking like he quit his transition halfway through and in the stage of a particularly ugly drag queen with an undeniably male voice. I'm reminded of that one episode of Family Guy where Stewie dresses in drag to go on a date with Brian to make an ex jealous, and he has no idea how to talk "sexily" and says "I can't wait to go home, and you can watch me have my period."

4. lol

Who will pay for all the new lines to be recorded by the original voice actors?? Having to raise the funds for more lines could push this project past it's release date!

lol, Wu should just run it through some text-to-speech freeware and claim that the original VA had a stroke and that's why it came out sounding all stilted and unnatural.
