This is true, except for one solitary logic hole - except for the fact that the ZQ "go get some free games guys" post is still up, as is her retweeting of the same.

This is not an isolated occurrence.

The third-party trolls are predominantly backing the Antis on this one. There's a few on GG's side, but the overpowering majority has a vested interest in simply worsening discourse and allowing the Antis to self-victimize, which, fittingly enough, benefits the Antis. Without getting too deeply into it, a lot of it ties into many prominent antis being Goons and many professed shit-stirrers involved being the same, resulting in them essentially being Antis in everything but name.

There's another factor, too, but it's long so I'm spoilering this bitch for those who are interested.

It doesn't make any goddamned sense for a GG-supporting troll to False Flag the opposition.

First of all, GG self-polices itself (something the Antis virtually never do, as evidenced by the fact that Wu continues to claim fucking Jace Connors as a credible threat), so any revelation that a given thing is false, even from their own side, will likely come from the GGers.

Secondly, and more criticially, there's literally no benefit to False-Flagging the Antis.

False-flagging is only worth something if there's evidence that has to be fabricated, and, indeed, can be obtained no other way. This question has been asked many, many times, but it bears repeating: If harassment and death threats were such a major issue, and were as disruptive and credible as your average Anti claims they are, then why haven't they posted actual cases of such harassment outright? Why not report them to the authorities, whether legal or internet-based?

The reason comes into focus when one starts actually analyzing what your average Anti calls a "harassment tweet." In the case of the Anita ones, for example, the overpowering majority of Sarkeesian harassment/threats are:

A) Coming from throw-away troll accounts.

B) Second only to the throw-away trolls are career shit-stirrers.

C) The ones that aren't A or B Are direct responses to something that Anita herself has said/done that was openly intending to provoke such a response.

Now, I'm gonna go out and post this again, which shows once again how a tiny minority of harassment posts actually come from Gamergate (and the numbers include the false-flags from assholes like Teridax too, just FYI). A simple application of our old friend Occam's Razor (do not introduce hypotheticals to explain a situation when it can be just as easily explained without them) suggests that the reason that the Antis do not post such evidence is because said evidence does not exist in sufficient quantities.

Even with the sheer numbers involved, the Antis do not have sufficient proof they are being harassed and threatened beyond anonymous trolls that have no tangential link to Gamergate. As such, there is an inherent need to False Flag Gamergate, and since we've already proven via multiple sources that GG has been false-flagged repeatedly, that's one side taken care of, bringing us back to possible flags against the Antis.

Flags against individual Anti-GGers notwithstanding (The likes of Arthur Chu/It Ends Tonight most notably), there has been no real false-flagging against the Antis - because the evidence said flagging would be intended to gather isn't remotely necessary. Gamergate already has Game Journos Pro, racist tweets from Leigh Alexander, pro-bullying by Sam Biddle, and a fucking litany of other bits of evidence that essentially allows Gamergate to string up its opposition with its own words and actions. Applying Occam's Razor once again yields the clear-cut response that, barring individual false-flags (@six.four.systems getting a certain prominent Anti to report the infamous Navy Seal copypasta as a credible threat, for example), there won't be a hell of a lot of these directed at the Antis, simply by the very nature of it.

I read - and I think the people in the twitter conversation read - the tweet to mean that she's just acknowledging Teridax's tweet. There's nothing there that shows that she's behind it, it's like "I don't care if you say mean things to me, go get your free games."

Teridax is a known element here and he's done plenty of trolling of both GamerGate and AntiGG, it's just a matter of whatever gets him the most attention at that particular moment in time. This is the dude who does edgy shit like building altars to celebrate 9/11 and posts them on armed forces websites. GNAA and the like definitely have an anti-GG leaning but they just want laughs above all else.

I don't know about that, journalists managed to get shit like Gone Home, Depression Quest and possibly Fez into the spotlight. Almost exact same situation, someone befriended with a vidya journalist asked for publicity and in those cases it worked out. Awards were won, stories were written, everyone is happy.

Though vidya gaem journalism being under such heavy fire these days probably didn't help with Rev60's reputation, either.

I guess the game must be completely ready for launch now that she's fucking around with pointless shit and tweeting every hour!

So I'm the only one who noticed she's upgraded her white Apple Watch Sport ($399) bought just a month ago
For an Apple Watch Space Black ($1099) with what appears to be a Modern Buckle band (+$249)

If Wu spent half the money on her game studio that she does on herself, she'd able to hire some staff and actually develop something. I bet this is how she behaved back when she was running her other vanity company, it's no surprise that it went under without producing anything.

Eventually people are going to get tired of subsidizing a whiny idiot who spends a dangerous amount of time on twitter, what is she going to do then? She obviously doesn't want to actually put any work into her business, all she does is spend her hipster welfare on overpriced apple stuff.

Holy fuck, does she never tire of being hypocritical on this one issue?

BTW, because I could use some amusement for the morning, I decided to call her out on it myself:

A lot of these games got through to the mainstream for very different reasons. Not all of them are that bad.

Gone Home has support because it actually has a decent narrative under its flappery, something it shares with The Stanley Parable. I have a few friends that fell in love with the damned thing over the depth of its environment and how much it lets the player sort of invest itself in it. By no means is a game I'd recommend personally, but as far as narrative games go, it at least gives agency to the player, has a decent soundtrack, and generally competent presentation. Gone Home, for all its weaker points, got through on its merits.

To contrast, Dear Esther is an almost-identical game (in theory) that in practice is infinitely worse, with the player having no agency in the game and it essentially being a glorified hand-holding tour. It's completely non-involving and utterly bereft of actual content. You do not have the ability to interact with anything. You simply walk down a series of corridors as the game narrates at you. There is literally no interactivity and this makes the game incredibly hackneyed. Dear Esther only got through because of a crowd of fucking hipsters who worshipped it like it was the biggest thing in Video Game storytelling since David Cage.

Depression Quest is garbage. I'm not going to slam games made in Twine, since Twine can make some impressive shit, but Depression Quest could have been cobbled together by a student learning HTML. It's atrociously written and only made it through the Indie Circuit because she and her associates fucked literally everyone of note to make it happen.

All of which brings us back to Revolution 60. The game was a fucking failure. We've all seen how "amazing" its "story" is, thanks to the works of @Optimus Prime and @Smutley . Wu latched onto Gamergate to hype herself and hopefully hawk her games. And it worked, to a degree - she sold more copies of Rev60 than she ever would have before. Unfortunately, as Wu quickly learned, her intended audience in the SJW circuit does not buy games. Eventually to inflate the numbers, she made it freeware, where even now it has less downloads than the likes of fucking Depression Quest.

Hyping herself really is all Wu knows how to do. She describes herself as "The Godzilla of Feminists," and her Patreon literally is "I AM THE HERO FEMINISM NEEDS, PATREON ME SO I CAN #FINISHTHEFIGHT." Wu really is the goddamned embodiment of this madness, completely convinced of her own primacy and importance.

Holy fuck, does she never tire of being hypocritical on this one issue?

the most iconic thing is no matter how much johnny boy scream about those thing, in the end the industry will not give a damn because her ideals simple DOESNT SELL, if they try to apply it will simply not work because sjw indies have a thing to input mary sues in their games and almost all the SJW are white people like Chloe

Johnny boy must be aware that people DOESNT CARE about races or sex or anything at all in videogames, people care is the game is good or not, they could play as a penguin with autism but if the game is great they will not give a flying fuck

i get a little angry everytime she speaks for gamer, she is definitely not one of us and definitely never will

So I decided to take a stab at her Revolution 60 demo on my iPad. No intention of shelling out my precious monies on the full game, but I want to know what I'm up against.

This is the brief, two-star review I typed out on the Apple Store page:

At least the demo was free
That means I don't need to shell out any precious monies on the full game if it's anything like the demo.

I will give the designers credit for some cool-looking futuristic backgrounds, though the enemy soldiers look like Star Wars Stormtroopers with black tattoos painted on their armor. On the other hand, the gameplay itself ranges from pathetically easy to awkward. Most of the time, all you have to do is tap a button, or drag it around a circle, at select moments between cutscenes that take up the majority of game time without giving you a clear idea of what the storyline actually is. There is also a shootout in an alleyway that is more challenging, but this is the awkward part.

I get that the iPad wasn't designed for sophisticated, challenging first-person shooters, but that goes to show that Brianna Wu should expand out of her iOS comfort zone.

Lets be fair, Depression Quest was not in anybody GOTY list. I can see why some people would like FEZ and Gone Home and would pay for the game. Nobody would bother with Depression Quest if it was not free and a 'awareness' game.

I've been doing datacrunching for the Brianna Wu Article.

I don't think you guys realize just how many fucking tweets she makes. Remember how on the Vade discussion thread, we complained about her shit being impossible to follow for more than a few days because she averages about 100 posts every 2-3 days? Brianna averages that in about a day and a half. I have, just trying to get back to her September Tweets, gone through literally THOUSANDS of her tweets.

If I'm reading these figures right (and I'm not even into January yet), then Brianna Wu has made over 10000 tweets since first antagonizing Gamergate supporters in September 2014. Indeed, since she started using Twitter, Brianna Wu has made over 58000 tweets (source: BackTweets).

EDIT: I am fucking convinced this is a defense mechanism. Wu is such a prolific poster that even the most powerful tweet-scanning software chugs to a crawl when trying to search through the mire. By posting so much, Wu essentially guarantees that any ability to dig through her backlog is a chore.

I think she's probably just an obsessive nut who literally can't stop tweeting and has absolutely nothing better to do.
