I hear this argument a lot, and from people who are not necessarily SJW shitheads either.
The bottom line is, if you're looking for diversity in film, don't bother with Hollywood. Amazingly, people make movies - sometimes in funny languages that are not English! - that are beautiful, empathetic, and, yes, diverse.
It's less that it's hard to make a decent looking character in a Souls game, more that there's no fucking point to it. You're running around in thick armor that covers you from head to toe. Shit, man I forgot what the hell my character looked like Dark Souls.

I suspect in April they will complain about Mortal Kombat X's female costumes (which are actually more tastefully done than they were in MK9), in May they will complain about the Witcher being... well, a Witcher game, and in June, they will complain that Arkham Knight's is misogynistic because Poison Ivy is sexualized (which is kind of the point of the character).
