Also, the RE series was stagnant in the same way the classic mega man franchise was stagnant. The same game released over and over, with CV and Gaiden being of lower quality. 0 was already experimenting with the partner system, and the developer wanted to make something drastically different. But it wasn't like the series was doomed without RE4, it just had a really troubled development and became such a huge hit that its viewed through this weird lens nowadays.

What I think he means is that RE4 revolutionized the series. RE 1-3 were different than 4--but the franchise was not stagnant IMOP.

This is a case of John being histrionic in an attempt to defend his shit game.

Ah yes QTEs are perfect because RE4 had it and it was a good game.
Nevermind QTEs were the parts that nobody on the planet liked and RE4's success didn't have anything to do with them.
 
Did you know that Brianna Wu and Laurelai (NSFW: Encyclopedia Dramatica) are internet friends (I don't know if they had any contact with each other IRL)? Laurelai twitter handle is @stuxnetsource. Her tweets are only viewable for approved users, but using twitter's search engine I managed to find several interactions between her and Brianna. The first documented interaction between the two was on October last year. Further tweets were exchanged between the two on November, but unfortunately only Brianna's side of conversation is viewable. Brianna was also kind enough to post a screenshot of a Facebook conversation she had with Laurelai, suggesting they're FB friends. Nice to know that a pathological liar and a rapist have joined forces to fight for justice.

As far as I remember, you had the three main series of RE that used the old style, along with a prequel, a canon side story, and perhaps two Outbreak games. That is six game but even then, they had their own thing to make them unique. Even the first game remake threw in a few new things to be fresh. And the QTE's Wu speaks of may of been done better in games before RE4.

I know lolcow and all that but from that one single comment alone... what was so wrong with that? "Women are talked at like this all the time" the hell is this wonderdummy babbling about? Having comments that are... just comments that literally had no real meaning?

I think she's talking about other MALES in general telling her she's wrong. Coffin's comment just happened to be inbetween her tweets. She and Coffin are pretty deep buddies lately and Wu has been helping pimp his donation page (Coffin is a lolcow himself FYI).

Because y'know, as it's been said a million times, a man correcting someone when they're factually wrong is MANSPLAINING. I deeply apologize for any mansplaining I may have done in this post :heart-empty:

I dunno, I'm pretty sure she'd get desperate enough to cry MANSPLAINING at technically harmless comments.

Also, was it this thread that had that Tapped Out image ("I was just doing it to show how the media is biased against women") image came from? Cause That gave me an idea for a drawing... hand's pretty awful as in "suspected carpal tunnel or something just as bad" awful.
