So, I really know nothing about trolling, but is it really safe to say that bizarre anonymous Twitter threats are angry men and not just someone mad at you IRL or one of your gal-pals fucking with you? If Brianna had gone to my high school acting the way she does, we would all have trolled her on Twitter. That's just how people work, on or off the internet.

Well there IS one person who sends a lot of threats to Brianna Wu.

I remember when Jamie Walton spoke of trying to contact Jace's local PD and they sent her on a wild goose chase to protect him. I bet they did the same for Brianna if she ever actually attempted to serve him.

That's a good point, and I forgot about that. But it's one thing to send a casual observer on a wild goose chase and another to deliberately fumble a routine thing that is actually their job. Anyone serious could still, I believe, hire a professional process server. This is hardly out of Wu's means. I also believe there's a quasi-law enforcement officer called a constable you can hire to serve process.

In any event, I don't believe passive noncompliance by the PD would have prevented a good faith attempt to serve. Wu just didn't actually want a real legal case.

No no. That sword cuts both ways. If you want Jace to be treated as a serious threat, the guy saying he wants to seal the doors to a convention and set the building on fire is treated as a serious threat too. It's not "Just a troll account" when it's coming from your faction.

Online threats aren't super serious business that must be seriously addressed only when it happens to you.

I don't really have any horse in the gamergate thing. I've been indifferent to it since day one, and I've seen plenty of idiots on both sides. Plenty of decent people too. But if you want to treat people like Jace as super deadly menaces you don't just get to brush off Mr. "Man I want to just lock gamers in their conventions and set the building on fire" as "Just a troll"

Hey, I wondered what happened after the Ghazi crowd got Geordie Tait to close his Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Wu's had a history of openly throwing false-flags and self-victimhood trying to drum up how important and/or vital she is. Though her best-known one is the Steam Incident, where she demonized herself in a post before realizing she did so whilst logged into a dev account, her tendency to use open falsehoods to push forward her victimhood narrative is the stuff of fucking legends. One of the first "death threats" Brianna got and went apoplectic over was a joke by trolls with SomethingAwful, and even after this became known, Brianna continued to claim it was truthful and that she'd been driven from her home. This was provably untrue. Her initial "blame 8chan" meme was later proven to have come directly from Wu herself, planned well in advance.

During the incident when her dog was dying and everyone was telling her to get the fuck off twitter and take the dog to a credible medical professional, an anonymous poster (who Brianna claimed was from Gamergate) posted claiming that Gamergate was mocking her dead dog. Amidst claims that Gamergate had killed her dog (seriously), a search later turned up that the posts by "Crash" featured an image of Brianna Wu's dog that nobody but Wu would have access to, and it had some problematic timing; the account was created literally the same day as Brianna's posts, dropped its series of posts claiming to be an anti-Wu poster, and was responded to by Wu less than 2 minutes later.

Jace is a fucking dumbass, but he's a well-known dumbass. When people have tried to go after Jace before, police have diverted them because they're aware that Jace is fucking retarded. Even now, Brianna and friends of hers are spreading the meme that she's in DANGER CITY!! because of Jace, a meme that's so fucking stupid that even SJWs on DailyKos called bullshit on that.

She's a fucking liar and has a history of self-victimization is what I'm getting at here. I mean, she already deleted this tweet when she realized she had been caught in a lie, something that's become a time-honored practice of miss Wu by this point.

I read people in KiA bitching about people "feeding" Wu of attention and everyone should just ignore her. The big ass problem is that Wu is becoming a toxic entity for everything she uses to cry victim. Shit like this should be called off as is irresponsable and truly damaging to both the industry and the social progressive issues that Wu claim to care about. For all its faults, at least Zoe and Anita know in what direction not to push the narrative while Wu seems whiling to take the power trip to all is worth. I will never understand, as a whole, why some people would defend her to the point of insanity while is clear she is willing to throw anyone to the bus to get her fix.

Using Jace was already a warning about how she could get lower and lower in her search for 'victimhood' .
