I don't think it's what prompted her to get a sex change, rather she made a complimentary connection between her own appearance and those of female superheroes. Brianna is under OPL-esque delusions that she embodies the true essence of femininity. It offered her a chance to brag about how she's supposedly proportioned like a geeky wet-dream girl. I think that's a big reason why the characters in R60 look so unrealistic. They're extensions of Brianna, and that's what Brianna sees when she looks in the mirror.

As someone who runs trade shows for a living the whole PAX debacle seems very odd to me. Nixing your booth for a PR sunt is the type of thing that really pisses off trade show industry people. Also exhibiting at major industry shows is sort of a mark of being a real serious businesses,. So it seems odd to do this if you want to be taken seriously.

From what I was told Giantspacekat, tried to reserve a booth, but never sent in the deposit. since it's a shitty booth that none else wanted they let them have until the deadline for payment. Instead Wu posted her "statement"

Now that would not surprise me. I had been kicking around the idea before that Wu might have been trying to get some special location or extra space from PAX under the guise of wanting "security", but they wouldn't give in. Except I figure that if that were the case, Wu would have put them on blast (just like putting that Sony exec on blast for raising an eyebrow at her SJW agenda). This makes more sense: GSX got a shitty booth at PAX and it was probably 100% their fault, and just sat on their hands thinking about whether to attend. That or Wu figured they'd get a free location upgrade because they got greenlit on Steam.

Regardless, I'm sure whatever it was had to do with being completely out of touch with the reality of how trade shows work.

...Not to criticize you, Koba, since I respect the right of any party to not give a fuck, but this thread is specifically about Brianna Wu, a lolcow to whom Gamergate is inexorably tied. She blames it for all her problems whilst at the same time failing to recognize how irrelevant she'd be without it to scream about. Rest assured, if Gamergate ended tomorrow, Wu would still be screaming about how victimized she was because of it. Wandering into a thread on said lolcow to complain about a key aspect of said lolcow strikes me as disingenuous.

But let me elaborate on Wu a bit.

Wu is a great example of the veracity of Gamergate claims. She has a number of gigantic conflicts-of-interest where she's been reviewed favorably by friends of hers and a history of taking action for other peoples' work. She has a history of self-victimizing and outright lying that's best surmised by this:

Wu's failures go beyond Gamergate, of course, as evidenced by that same image. Wu is more than just a Gamergate-related cow - she's a mix of Vade, Chris, Golden Knight, Moleman, Derek Smart, all rolled into one person. She is practically the grand unification theory of lolcows, so despite being so GG-integral, non-GG-supporters can look and laugh along with everyone else.

And here's a fun fact for everyone else. Have you ever wondered what her Steam userpic is? I'll tell you - It's Cloud of Darkness, from Dissidia:

Worth noting, Brianna Wu is also the head of a steam group called Brianna Wu.

It has 249 members, and a community that openly mocks her self-victimization. Practically everything mocking her on said group is immediately brought by Wu to Gamerghazi to show how oppressed she is.

It's funny that she uses Cloud of Darkness as an avatar. For those who don't know, Cloud of Darkness isn't actually a female, it's really a genderless embodiment of evil and nothingness that just happens to choose the form of a woman. Is Wu trying to say something to us by doing this?

There is no way a major tradeshow is giving anyone extra unpaid boothspace or an unpaid sponsorship opportunity (exposure). The shows I run are in industries with less money/media exposure our cheapest/smallest booths are $1.5k for 8x10. I would guess for a show like PAX a similar sized booth would be at least $2.5k-$5k. Trade shows are big money and anyone asking for free booth space/sponsorship/perks is seriously delusional.

I was told that Wu never bought a booth at PAX east, at one point she may have said she was reserving one but never sent in the money.However a few months ago she became a panelist, this generally means you get travel expenses reimbursed and free admission. Wu felt she should get free floorspace. Of course she was denied.

Edit: it's also notable that she claims to have had a booth at the past two expos yet Giantspacekat does not appear on the floor plan for either... I cannot find any floorplan for 2015 currently.
