I think in the case of disputes like this, the article should just be deleted for lack of notability. It isn't like Wu is all that important.

I have a feeling she'll flip out over that, just like when Chris was told he wasn't worth of a wikipedia article.

Oh god. I wish. The problem is that the way the notability guidelines work in practice is that so long as you have two articles talking about someone published in prominent places, you're almost guaranteed to avoid deletion. Even if you can make a case that the coverage of the individual articles don't meet the guidelines to support notability of that person, so long as you have at least two articles, you can pretty easily muddy the waters enough to keep the article from being deleted.

Pretty sure the real reason is that she didn't want to sit at a table for hours on end.

I half think this might be more because Pax wouldn't give Wu special accommodations that she didn't otherwise merit, like extra space or a specially ticketed area "for security". Of course if that were the case I would expect Wu to be screaming about Pax not doing enough to protect exhibitors.

It's probably more that conventions don't fucking matter anymore and she can generate more buzz online by not attending for some lofty reason than she ever would by attending.

No. I doubt there's more than a dozen people who'd actually show up to hear her talk. But think about the victim narrative. Now she's up there with Anita as 'a woman who was run out of a speaking engagement due to harrassment'. As much as Wu has been trying to one-up all the other 'victims', this is a real coup for her. She's tied for first in her own mind now. Let the Patreon swell in response.

GSX allegedly can't afford to pay staff salaries without Patreon, a booth at PAX wouldn't be financially viable without more victim bucks to pay for it.

There's also the possibility she canceled for fear of being publicly "harassed" by gamers who don't take a shine to her shitty game. It would be the steam page in real life.

So Brianna Wu tried to stir some shit with Mark Kern, a video game designer, because Kern started a petition calling for the gaming press to change the way they cover issues related to sexism in gaming and whatsnot. I thought that this would be a rerun of Brianna vs. Ethan James Petty, but Kern managed to be the bigger man and gave this debacle a dignified ending. It does seem though that Brianna is developing a pattern of trying to start shit with prominent people in the game industry when they do not tow the SJW party line. Hopefully the next time Wu does something like that will result in more lulz.

According to Wu's patreon, it seems like she wants to hop on the Sarkeesian train and start a short video series... but first she needs an extra $1000 a month.

Looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of Wu in the future.

I like how she's pretending they're not doing PAX for any reason beyond they don't have anything to show. PAX takes security very seriously, and Boston police are not about to let any acts of public violence occur if they have even the slightest suspicion after the marathon bombing. The irony of course is, if she wasn't so self-centered and actually cared about women in vidya she could cite legitimate reasons to not attend, but she has to make it all about her.

She really took that Law and order episode seriously didn't she?
Nah, just a page from the Anita Playbook.

What's the series about? Costume ideas for Halloween?
