The story is cheesy shit that doesn't take itself seriously. You fight a goddamn evil tree, and he's a gloriously hammy villain. Personally I loved a return to something lighter after the gloomfest that was IV. And the heavier scenes like the one you mentioned are done fantastically.

Not sure why she even commented on story though, because she clearly didn't get through any of it. She also failed to comment on the three badass main female characters (THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS, A GAME FROM DECADES AGO WHICH HAD MORE FEMALE CHARACTERS THAN MALES, HOLY COW!), each one distinct and capable.

All she did was show what a fake nerd she is and how little she knows about the FF series beyond the handful of titles she's played (and I kinda wonder if she even finished those, given how quickly she gave up on this one).

See I played V after like VI and VII came out so I always viewed Kefka as the superior ham.

Bet Wu likes it because he wants to claim Lightning is some feminist power fantasy when she's basically just a hardassed, gender-bent version of Cloud.

As for TAE, it was a rewarmed over FFIV with a moon based mechanic and some expanded/rearranged dungeons from the original game, but it was still better than FF13.

Quite likely, but the problem here is that professional victiming is no longer as lucrative as it used to be, so he's still going to be a no name loser, only difference is that he won't be able to use the "womyn in tech" pity card anymore after the game bombs so fucking hard it destroys his chances of making another (not gonna happen anyway, but the game bombing will kill the fantasy if nothing else)

Also, Wu has already burnt a ton of bridges.
