Yeah, those are not " rescued a dog from a car" cuts. Those are "picked up an animal that did not want to be picked up" scratches.

Unless the car was something from Mad Max Fury Road - the only place where cars are as a rule covered in razor blades - apparently that was not a dog saved but a suicidal honey badger pissed off that its plans to kill itself were foiled.

Right, John. How about getting Rev60 on Steam?

Actually, that makes me wonder - R60 has taken so long in development, that I bet it's still not going to come out sooner than it would take anybody who knows game development and isn't a twitter-addicted lying asshat to shit out a far superior looking (and performing) near-duplicate of R60 onto Steam if they only started development right now.

i think wu is absolutely aware of how bad it is and is putting off release for as long as possible, since people are indeed still funding it every month. theres definitely gonna be some other ~super progressive~ game announced before r60 hits steam (and bombs) so that people will keep throwing money their way.

Maybe because Mac sucks ass, ever considered that?

LAPTOP FANS, MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU USE THEM?

Maybe you should buy those attachable external fans to keep the laptops, cool, then they wouldn't turn into fireballs.

All laptops fucking suck at dispersing heat, solution to that mentioned above. It's your own damn fault if they melt due to your stupid.

Yeah, it's so obvious John is playing for all the time he can, but the problem is that Wu's star is really faded at this point, so he can't do that for too much longer.

... who uses a laptop for 3D dev work? I certainly don't, it's kinda fucking retarded.

you know, i was under the impression that work was being done not completely backwards, just shitty?? but using a laptop for that?? that's fucking bonkers

NVida GEFORCE GT 650m?

No wonder Wu is burning them out - they were only mid-range tier integrated graphics cards back in 2012!

Why is Wu running these laptops constantly - the whole point of laptops existing are to be portable personal computers, and while they can be powerful machines in their own right, the way it sounds from Wu's own mouth is that they're the primary platform of running graphics we've already concluded are beyond the limits of anything not released within the last year!

What? Four dual cores? Assuming face value and somehow we're talking Macbooks with four processors, two cores each, then those macbooks should be melting from heat instantly as there's no space for the fans, let alone the sheer heat those processors would be generating since you do not use fucking dual cores in this day and age for high-end graphics.

In reality, going off of what the specs of the Macbooks in question - assuming Macbook Pros because Wu doesn't buy anything but the most expensive Apple shit, and the model years fall between 2011-2012 because of the dated NVida GPU as found earlier - what Wu actually has in these things are Core i7 dual core processors designed to function as quad cores (I'll admit, how this differs from true quad cores I'm not exactly certain but the Core i7 "quad" in my laptop is one of these doubled-up dual cores from around the same time frame). But Wu only has ONE "quad" core in each laptop, certainly not four.

Lazy fuck.

Ironic, given stupid-resource-guzzling game development is not what Macbooks were intended for at all.

The heat problems from all versions of Macbooks in every year are well documented, so this is not a new problem in the slightest. Apple designs Macbooks to look sleek and trendy, but that requires cutting out valuable space within the case which translates into an insufficent amount of heatsink real estate.

Ironically, if R60 wasn't a resource hogging piece of shit, there wouldn't be nearly as much problems with burning out computers because Wu wouldn't be punishing the hardware to impossible limits by rendering the damn game multiple times a day.

Yeah, it's so obvious John is playing for all the time he can, but the problem is that Wu's star is really faded at this point, so he can't do that for too much longer.

I suspect that's why Android has suddenly become a focus for Wu without much warning - Android is Java/XML based which is far friendlier to Windows (whereas Mac OS stuff is Linux based and differs from Windows to a insanity-inducing degree). Steam was Windows only for YEARS before Mac compatibility was finally enabled, which played to its benefit in how object oriented programming is far easier to use for game development than fucking Unix. Through Android, I bet Wu's trying to reverse engineer R60 onto that platform so then it's easier to put on Steam as I suspect Steam isn't exactly accepting of the resource killing monster R60 is on iOS.

Umm, those sure look like claw marks and not the type of injury you get from getting hit by a car.

In the real world some hipster scooped up another persons dog who scrambled to get away from the unwashed freak.

Instant Twitter Hero
When I saw that picture, I thought it was self-harm shit and Wu was showing it as the latest GG attack. It doesn't look like car accident wounds.

It was probably Sarah Butts trying to fuck a dog, and the dog scratched her in the process of escaping.

OS X is not Linux based. It uses a kernel based on the Mach kernel, descends from BSD, and is an actual Unix. Linux is a Unix-like OS that developed entirely separately.

Especially since she has a full blown mac pro desktop at home that can do her rendering work in a fraction of the time and depending on what she's doing it might already have the ability to send the job to her house using he Xgrid clustering built right into osx. Then she could go right on working and tweeting on her laptop like nothing happened. Macs have a lot of advanced features but apple has stopped developing them because they're completely wasted on the majority of their consumers.

Not to mention applecare is complete shit they offer no onsite warranty so have fun sitting around with no computer and have fun when it comes back to you and the first thing it does when you turn it on is ask what language you speak.

I don't understand why she bothered to lie about this everyone knows that laptops only have one processor even if they have more cores.

Your processor is divided up into little sub processors. Virtual cores (hyperthreading) are represented to the OS as another core but really when the core it just running one thread there will only be a handful of these specialized units doing anything, no matter what instruction you're executing only a fraction of the units in the processor get used and even in any given phase of the execution only some of those are being used.. Like 2 or 3 units are doing anything at least on the older processors I know about. So if there is another instruction in another thread that only will require the idle processing units it will execute both instructions at once or maybe part of both instructions at once (not sure).

I tend to think of them as having an extra core that runs at 1/3rd of the clock of the computer but that's like kind of a made up guess that seems to work good usually. Having a lot of slow cores means if the thing is loaded down really heavy your job may take awhile but the thing never really feels sluggish and unresponsive.

But anyhow the only modern intel processors that allow more than one processor are XEON based and by design they're totally unsuitable for laptops where you probably will never upgrade the CPU and it's a lot less power to just shove all your cores in one processor instead of powering two whole separate processors .

Does anyone know what software wu is using to make these models? I'd be interested in finding out if she could be doing all her processing at home from the road.

Wu mentioned using Maya in some earlier tweets.

Also, the whole laptop processor core thing makes me facepalm.

Modeling programs are murder on a processor since modeling is dumped completely onto the processor(s) to do (textures are dumped onto the GPU, unless it's a motherboard integrated unit, in which case the processor is doing some of the work, and it would run like ass no matter what in that case), and 3D modeling requires a metric shitton of calculations by the processor run in realtime, and anyone with the slightest ounce of technical sense would do this shit on a desktop since it's much harder to overheat a desktop.

Desktops have a higher profile, exhaust holes, and better fans, so even a weak desktop processor would do better than those laptop processors simply because it can stave off burnout much better.
