Jesus Christ… I swear a not-insignificant percentage of Twitter addict tweets are "lol getting on a plane, #TSA" "on the plane now, wow the internet sucks!" "Airline food… amirite?" "something something this airport"

It's all just facebook-esque humblebrag bullshit.

It's interesting that the press only has so much room for zoe and anita... look really. Almost every dip in anita's popularity has a corresponding bleep in zoe's until recently which I presume is related to the UN meeting.

Earlier someone told her she should have developed for SoCs instead of a single phone platform and she dismissed them as mansplainers and reminded everyone she's a super professional engineer. Surely if she already understands these issues she'd understand why google's flagship android device running unmolested stock android would provide a different experience than other devices?

I had heard of tegra but couldn't remember what it was so I looked it up and tegra is not a GPU it's a complete SoC. I'm not sure why she's even mentioning it, it seems pretty beefy but it's only in a few phones and it's not in the nexus6. Maybe she heard of it because it was in that indie game console the ooya or whatever it was. I like how the guy seems confused too and is eager to just keep her happy and tell her how smart she is. "I don't know! Whatever you say! I'm not sure! I love your dog!"

He's telling her that nexus has the latest android release and isn't loaded with a bunch of weird apps and stuff so just because your game works on it doesn't mean it will work right on other devices. We have 2 phone related products and we have a stack of different android testing devices and people are still always walking around the office asking people what phone they have to try and get some strange bug to manifest as indicated in a bug report. These products are probably simpler than a game and a 3d rendering engine.

I'm actually surprised she doesn't understand this just from dealing with different model iDevices.

I'm gonna take a stab and say she's claiming "Romani." It's the preferred Person of Color designation for white girls. Despite the fact that the average american couldn't identify a gypsy on sight unless they were literally standing next to a carnival ride. And, y'know, gypsy hate being a primarily European thing.

These people never make any actual attempt to reconnect with their supposed Romani heritage after milking the Marginalized Person Points out of it. Maybe it's because gypsy culture really *is* patriarchal and sexist. But I doubt they even investigate that far.

Soooo... Dark Souls? One of the most beloved games of the last console generation? Had Dark Sun Gwyndolin, born male but raised as a women because of his close connection to the moon. Has a woman's name, wears a dress and has noticeable breasts. The game's fans (a fanatical bunch), far from crying foul, regard this a fascinating bit of lore in a world positively dripping with it.

Most gamers prefer worlds where you're not randomly appropriating their culture for points on your "side."

I find it funny that Brianna is getting into Android now (hesitantly, like she's trying some new foreign food made from ingredients she's never heard of) that Android phones are outselling Apple. I think Samsung are the current frontrunners.
Nexus is a good phone though and I'm kind of pissed off that Bri's got the new one. I'm still only the Nexus 4 which is starting to act up with age. If she starts gushing over how good it is, I'm probably going to have to look elsewhere. Maybe I'll dig up an old Nokia so it'll be clean of Brianna's touch.
