As promised earlier, all of John's writing that I found in "The Purple and White" of Millsaps College" is in the spoiler. It is comprised of two articles, four opinion pieces (the most numerous, naturally), and three reviews (which are also opinion, of course). Two letters to the editor, critiquing his foolishness, are also included.

With the exception of his two pieces in 2000 on a Bush/Gore debate and a West Wing review, his Millsaps "journalism" "career" lasted exactly 29 days - from September 11 to October 2 of 1998.

What's funny is how -- aside from the first three "syndicated" comics of early 1998 (while he was seemingly still an Ole Miss student) -- John gets published (combined writing and comics) for the first few weeks of the school year in 1998, then disappears - even from the credits. Same thing happened in 2000. Because "professionalism" and "goal-orientation".

h/t to @Sarcastic Username for uploading John's first article upthread and @unclestryker for finding the West Wing review.

The ten "Socially Unconscious" strips are in this prior post, in case you missed it.

Semper fidelis again to @Prick Baxter and @Kosher Dill for unearthing John's "resume" and the Millsaps newspaper archive. Great work. Treasure trove of hilarity.

I am actually really glad that John quickly dropped his autistic and massively fucking uninformed views on mathematics academia. Shit triggers the hell outta me.

You were looking in the wrong place.

No, I dead-serious totally-on-purpose was looking through the Daily Mississippian, because that's where John said he did his first work. Either to find it and point at, or to be completely unable to find it.

But I'm not finding them.

Someone donated a bunch of old Purple&White to the Internet archive to digitize them. We need someone with a closet full of Daily Mississippians to donate those, too. I'm trying to learn about the process to see what I can do to help it happen.

Ok I am going to try to email the editor, to see if they some of the really old back issues archived (most newspapers do). But I need a ballpark figure on the dates.

Massive update with Transamus incident on lolcow wiki. That took an hour and a half.

Just gonna say, Wu, it looks less like you "made her design better" and more "changed it from a palette-swapped version of Miranda Lawson's outfit so Bioware wouldn't sue my ass."
My first thought was literally "oh, you gave her Mass Effect armor, thanks Obama feminism." I didn't even make the palette-swap connection.

Oh, Wu.

Worldcat has information on who has archives. Looks like you're limited to LexisNexis, a couple locations in Mississippi, and (oddly) UC Irvine. Best bet is maybe hiring some Ole Miss student to run through the microfiche copies, which may prove tedious if proper indexing is lacking.

The current website of the paper's online archives don't seem to have anything. One might get lucky browsing through what the Wayback Machine captured.

I am going to try to email the editor in chief for older back issues. But I need a ball park figure to go by. When did flynt say that he worked for said paper? Either that or it could one big lie.

Also Dat damage control.

Awfully quick on the GamerGate trigger, eh? Kind of similar to that anonymous Wikipedia editor.

Also, people really should quit pretending Wu is credible even out of fear. I get that she's insane enough to burn everything in her wake to the ground just for attention but continuing to enable her isn't making things better

Wu, honey, I think he was actually praising your ability to function despite being so massively stupid.

It's unclear. Check the "blue jean bandit" discussion, particularly this comment from the former opinion editor. In the 2005-06 academic year, Brandon Niemeyer was opinion editor in the fall and Meghan Blalock in the spring. The prior year it was Albert Scovel. Niemeyer is also listed as the opinion editor in late June 2005.

I'm not sure John (as Brianna) has made a claim to have worked for the DM. The opinion editor claims John worked at the Student Media Center, which doesn't necessarily mean he worked on the paper per se, as the Ole Miss yearbook staff work out of there as well.

His photo is in the 2003-04 yearbook as a sophomore, not in the 2004-05 yearbook, and in the 2005-06 yearbook as a senior - with his now-infamous photo. He also has two articles in that edition - here and here.

John 'Friendless' Flynt said:
An industry friend wrote me last night to say, “I admire your ability to constantly deal with stupidity.”

1) You have no friends, John.
2) You are referring to Glenn. He also has no friends.
3) The "constant stupidity" you deal with is running 24/7 between your ears.
