I was wondering what the ownership structure of Giant SpaceKat is. It's a Delaware LLC. Delaware says for $20 they can give me the "Status, Tax, and History Information." Would that be very boring, or would it show the incorporation documents and who owns what percentage of the company?

Edit: You can also view them at the state capital if you go to the Division Of Corporations' physical office at in Dover, Delaware. Any Kiwis near there? http://corp.delaware.gov/directweb.shtml

i actually set up a twitter so i wouldn't miss gems like this

(At the time of dissolution 2-2.5 years later, Flynt has no idea where those two people are, and they didn't leave forwarding addresses. The debts of the company were three loans from Flynt's parents, for initial payments of $96,000; $6,000; and $68,194.04, for which no payments at all were made.)

Interesting. That sounds different from her account of "my parents gave me $200k to start my own business". From what we can piece together from Wu's history, she was supposedly disowned by her parents around this time. From the way Wu tells it, she's the victim of parents who don't accept her transgendered status. However, I could see how losing approx. $200k propping up a business that never did anything might have created the strife that led to the situation.

So has Wu ever given any reason for her Bloodborne hateboner besides the character creator not letting her make her Bratz dolls? Becuase it seems like she's desperately trying to bait attacks to look like a victim.
Thats what all of these Patreon people do dude. Anita, Zoe, Brianna. All they do is tweet 6 times an hour every day either saying something intentionally controversial to start arguments or showing the results of their harassment. They are "victims" in the sense that they could walk away anytime, but choose to star in this role for as long as it keeps them in the spotlight.

Whoa. Just noticed something on those documents @Sarcastic Username was talking about. John Flynt's address on those forms is for an apartment complex off Dupont Circle in DC. If it's the apartment complex I'm thinking of, the rent for just a 1 BR apartment is, like, $2800 a month! No fucking way is she living in a place like that while doing low level stuff for the Bush administration or whatever the fuck she claimed she was doing in DC at that time. At least not on her own dime.

So I'm sperging out on SpaceKat's revenue, and I looked back through Patreon archives.

There was some sudden spike in January that disappeared pretty quickly.

If that was legitimate (and $13K a month is a well into the top 10% of households), it would be intoxicating to get back to that, and she'll try to recreate whatever circumstances led to the first one.

Why did the support disappear so fast?

(Wu also pulled in $12,728 to port Rev60 to "PC and Mac." Good luck.)

The January donation spike was due to an anonymous 1 time donation of $10k that many have assumed was a not entirely legal shuffling of funds. It's really funny because in November, Polygon ran an article talking about how Wu was so confident that her "harassers" would be caught she offered a $11k reward to anyone who would provide credible information about who was harassing her. $1,000 of that came from the Wu family, the remainder from an anonymous doner.

In December she writes a panicked note to all her supporters to make their profiles private, and soon after in January after she gets an "anonymous one time donation" of $10k to her patreon.

Obviously the harasser (Wu) was found by a vigilant supporter (also Wu) and the money was collected as promised (by Wu).

For those of you not following, here's the docuement in question (warning: PDF). John Flynt's address is listed as 2201 "N" Street, NW, Washington DC 20037. I did a google search on that adress and this website came up in the results. Francis, Is that the apartment complex you were thinking about? Anwway, the way they describe their apartments (warning: PDF again) make them sound pretty expensive.

EDIT: On the bottom of the website of the apartment complex there's a list of available apartments and the cost of rent in each one. As of the time of this writing, the cheapest rents are in the low 2000s; the highest rents are in the low 3000s.

Yeah, fuck you, unemployed student trying to find industry connections. I ALREADY have mommy and daddy's money a rich husband a patreon a job so why should I connect with you and help YOU build YOUR resume? You should pull yourself up by your bootstraps without any outside help, like *I* did!

Of course, considering it's Wu this student unknowingly dodged a bullet, I think connecting with her would do a lot more harm than good.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of! Was on a work call so I couldn't double-check to be sure but I know a lot of the apartments around that area tend to be pretty pricey because of the location. So, I guess my question is what was she really doing in DC? The "head trauma" story is pretty convenient for Wu to not have to explain anything (or be held accountable) for whatever happened but I bet there are ways to find out.

This has all been very interesting reading, thank you.

Always a bummer when someone appointed, by themselves or the media, to represent "my side" is a loon. I'm sort of amazed at the amount of hubris she displays on her twitter (my games will be better, more innovative, than anything done before) when there are tons of stories of developers over promising and under delivering. Do the work first. Then you can talk about how great you are for doing it.

For what it's worth, I think I fall into her definition of a neogamer (???) and I hate QTE's and I found Heavy Rain boring as hell as a result.

Wu's hateboner for Bloodborne tells me that she never was able to git gud.

Even DSP was able to git... well, not gud, but able to finish the other three Souls games.

Well obviously the only reason that anyone would actually like Bloodborne over Revolution 60 is due to misguided elitism. I mean surely it couldn't have anything to do with it being a fun, challenging game that treats them with respect and lets them decide what challenges they want to take on.

QTE's are clearly what the industry needs more of, we don't need this ''challenge'' or ''rewarding'' bullshit.

Didn't Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition use a system similar to that? They just took the conversation wheel from Mass Effect (which Wu put into Rev60) then would add an icon to signify if it was stoic, diplomatic, snarky, aggressive, etc. One of the major problems was many times you didn't say what you thought you were going to say. You'd choose to be snarky, get a very small one line summary of what the character was trying to say and it wasn't unusual that the expanded response was very different. Hell, the 90's adventure game spin-off of Blade Runner let you chose what emotions to show when talking to people. It wasn't great but it shows that Wu isn't going into new territory.

Emotion-based dialogue is a great idea but it isn't a new idea. It tends to make dialogue a crap shoot because emotion does not state a character's intentions. You can be angry and still show restraint, you can be sad and still appear calm, you can be sarcastic and playful to hide pain. This is why many people miss the long lists of dialogue choices from the Baldur's Gate series, Planescape Torment, and even Icewind Dale series (where you made your character from scratch and decided their own history). You knew what you were going to say. Right now the biggest problem with dialogue choices in today's video games is they often don't change much. Even in some Telltale games where NPCs are built to remember certain things you say and reference them later it often doesn't change the story too much.

tldr: Wu isn't going to try anything new. She'll rip off another game's mechanic, tweak it a bit, then try to pass it off as her own innovation.

So this is hilarious:

hT3BhDw.png

These are alleged death threats directed at Brianna Wu, and are the most obvious false-flags since Brianna's infamous self-detonation on her own Steam Forum. Do you notice any problems here? If not, let's go over a brief list:

* Not 8chan's current website
* Not Gamergate's current board
* "WE ARE PLANNIN OUR ATTACK ON U"
* Implying Brianna Wu has a vagina

So we got some hilarious bits on how obvious a false-flag this is, but now, here's the funniest part of all.

All of these threats came from the same account literally in the span of about half an hour or so. This account was banned within 30 seconds - but clearly not before having every single one of its posts grabbed by one Katherine Cross, and used to pontificate about THIS IS HOW OFFENSIVE GAMERGATE IS THIS IS NOT FROM JACE CONNORS GAMERGATE IS BAD YOU GUYS. Suffice to say, the response to this was eminent mockery, and Cross took the post down.

Sorry if I'm late, but it's the first time I've seen her name mentioned irl: I saw the cover of Inc. magazine yesterday in the store that said in big letters "Who is trying to kill Brianna Wu" and only barely managed not to have an aneurysm. No, I did not attempt to read the article because then I would have probably started shouting about how stupid it was and gotten kicked out.
