When faced with the choice between a white male who seemed about as close to a socialist as you're going to get in a major party US candidate and the embodiment of corrupt pro-war corny capitalism with the right chromosomes and a "D" in front of her name Wu became a bad parody account of a Hillary supporter.   • Taking the dog for long walks suddenly
  • Switching fanboying from VR to AR (Pokemon Go is an AR game)
  • Having people in minivans yelling at her (probably strayed onto a road or something)

VR and AR are going to merge at some point. Thats a long way away but until then they will both do their own thing and will be decent at it provided their creators master thier function.

I doubt that they will actually merge. The biggest hurdle that AR has to get over is going to be battery life. People are already complaining about how Pokemon Go drains their phone batteries, and it will be even worse with batteries that would fit in a headset. For example, I have a set of glasses that basically have a GoPro style camera built into them that I use when riding my motorcycle. Their battery life is 1 hour MAX, and they are much bulkier than normal sunglasses. The only other option would be a separate battery pack that you wear on your hip for example, and then you're moving out of the convenience zone.

VR has the benefit of being relatively stationary, so you can have it connected to a dedicated power supply. Again, a portable battery pack would be possible, but very inconvenient. I see a more localized AR that is used at home and has the capability to be plugged in as the next stop forward for it if it's going to be at all useful.

What it comes down to is that people are going to continue to fall into the current categories of users.:

Mobile: AR devices are going to be used mostly by hipsters and their own version of "apple fanboys" for lack of a better analogy. Other people will be annoyed with them for using them in public and start avoiding them for fear of being recorded (like they did with the idiots wearing Google Glass). These are also the people who'll buy a Samsung VR or Google Cardboard, use it once, then forget about it.

PC: High performance VR devices like the Vive or Oculus Rift are going to be the domain of people who identify themselves as "PC Master Race", if for no other reason than that they will be the only people with computers that can power the devices.

Console: Everyone else is going to buy PlayStation VR and be happy.

Unlike many of the other idiots who chimp out over their threads here, he's just smart enough to realize how utterly counterproductive that is, and he absolutely cannot afford having his followers read it.
