Oh, so much stupid in that series of tweets. Why would a software engineer have any particular insight into hardware? And why would you need any expertise to assemble pre-made consumer-grade parts?

Many millions of 'normals' with zero credentials have built a PC, including setting anything that needed setting the BIOS. Which is almost nothing.

Seriously, why does he keep going on about the BIOS? What do you need to do in there, beyond setting the boot order, maybe? It's not like you even have to manually identify your hard drives these days; everything talks to the machine now.

The average person isn't going to need to fuck around with the BIOS unless they're overclocking or doing any other hardware related modifications. Even then, most modern BIOSes are incredibly user-friendly and easy to navigate. As a Kiwi before me pointed out, the most anyone ever really needs to do with the BIOS is set the boot order, which again, is really easy to do.

Sorry WuWu, building a computer is only hard for speds like yourself.

Basically, she called building a PC hard, accused everyone who said it was easy of "shaming" and "macho posturing", then said it was easier for her than it would be for "normals". Accusing others of being egotistical for doing exactly the same thing you are doing right in front of them is something that might surprise me on any other site or from any other person.

My brother told me that when he was in boot camp, the instructors remarked that it was easier to teach total newbies who have never touched a gun before how to shoot than those who have had experience.
 
Brianna Wu didn't even look at the box the motherboard came in or do any research on it or she would know the installed bios is advertised fucking everywhere.

Power leveling but...

I am in my 40s, have no technical ability when it comes to computers, have never played a Moomoo thing and havent even connected my PS to the wire that brings the magic waves of internets to my home like the young 'ums do.

But FFS, even I (when a friend let me down last year) , with the help of youtube etc managed to build the PC I'm typing on. It took a few hours and there was much swearing but then I have never claimed to be a godzilla of anything.

John is a fraud.
