John's frankenpc posted and his asspatters were quick to mansplain he needed to buy a usb 3.0 card specifically for the oculus.

Money well spent patreon supporters!

ALLAHU AKBAR

Oh, look, I found the exact case Wu is using...for $50 shipped.

Or possibly this one for $60.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133274

And the "G1 GAMING" along with that rather specific deco around the upper left of the MoBo made it real easy to track down what model it was.

Additionally, it's utter bullshit about the 'integrated ports and graphics' - you couldn't fucking USE a MoBo if it didn't have ports in the first place, and Wu once again shows off a complete lack of understanding how the fuck computers work because integrated graphics is only there for use with systems that don't have giant GPU cards (because those fuckers are expensive), but it isn't going to fucking work WITH the GPU since the GPU has its own port for the monitor that bypasses the bog-standard integrated graphics (I know this because on a previous computer bought stock from the store, the integrated graphics burned out but installing a new graphics card and using its monitor connection solved the problem without ever touching the burned out piece). Curiously the right latch on the bottom PCI 3.0 x 16 slot is in the OPEN position...but the space in the back where the external connections fit through are not removed.

More problems include a bunch of the system bits like the on/off switch light connectors not being plugged in (the cable for them is being sat on by the case itself, you can see these things in the lower right), obviously no SATA cables are connected - which is necessary for using an SSD or other memory devices - so no chance of installing the OS, I have no idea what the fuck that block thing is over the processor but it does NOT look like a suitable internal cooler fan in the slightest, and only two of the four RAM slots are filled so there isn't a fucking chance in hell this thing will have enough memory for whatever the fuck Wu thinks they're gonna do on this thing.

In fact, it looks suspiciously like a combo PC build given the parts are more or less similar to MY PC...which was a combo deal through New Egg last year. Specifically how there's what must be an aftermarket cooler - since ALL the sites online essentially tell you to not use the stock one or so I've found since I use an Arctic series - and the lack off a Disc Drive even though somebody in Wu's supposed line of work would need one.

No SSD either

He didn't even buy mass storage drives, just a single 512gb $300 ssd

The SSD is in there. If I recall, it was a m.2 interface SSD. Very nice for speed, and they are TINY. Maybe about half again the size of 2 postage stamps. They generally lie flat against the mobo. Mine is actually mounted underneath my graphics card.

That being said, those are nice for speed, but they are not very good on a space/price ratio. If it were just there for the OS and maybe the games he wanted the most speed out of that would be fine, but a larger SATA mass storage device would have been better. Hell, I've got a 1tb SSD plus another 5tb regular hard drive.

Yep, the vidcard not being installed is the very LEAST of their problems in that picture.
The vast majority of your front panel connections aren't hooked up, looks like just the front panel audio because its easy.
Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any SATA connections, which means there's no optical drive. Not that there's even power run for it in the first place...
Not sure if the case has any front panel intake fans, but I don't see any case fans plugged into the headers as well.

There is no optical drive at all That case has no capability for an external drive mount at all. The only way he's getting information onto that is via network or USB.
As far as the SATA connections, he didn't put anything in that case that used them. As noted, no optical drive, and no SATA mass storage either..
Looking at the screenshot of the BIOS she posted (these new fangled machines come with it pre-installed, almost like it's necessary), the only fans she has hooked up are the CPU and one case fan.

Yeah one bit that confused the hell out of me is..with the orientation of that mobo, and the length of video cards, where the heck are the graphics ports meant to go?
All the (what look like) SATA ports on the mobo look bare, like you noticed. Unless the PSU is hidden *under* the mobo, which is odd in itself, I see nothing that could be a power supply, and I don't see any standard internal power cables anywhere.

That's actually not a bad setup, if it weren't a micro-ATX. The horizontal "Test Bench" layout is nice for people who like to tinker, as it's very easy to get at all of the components. My case is very similar, just larger. It's actually the full ATX sized big brother to Wu's. The PSU actually sits on the bottom half (in the rear left corner from where we're looking. All of the cables are meant to snake underneath and just come up over the side to where they connect, staying out of the way otherwise. The internal drive bays are on the lower half as well. The graphics card will be sitting sideways on top. When it's installed, you'll be looking at the bottom of the card from this view.

I haven't looked at the specs of the 1080 too closely, but if it runs anywhere as hot as the 980 and Wu doesn't slap a couple for fans in that little box, it's gonna melt.

Wait, what? Did he somehow blunder into getting a brand-new motherboard without one single USB 3.0 port?
Nah, that mobo has plenty of USB 3.0's. It's even got a couple 3.1's.

I hate to sound as if I'm defending her, but as far as builds go, Wu actually copied a halfway decent ones all things considered. She made some questionable choices about mass storage and form factor that are going to bite her in the ass eventually, but the stuff that she copied over from whomever made the original list are pretty solid. She even appears to have managed to plug all the stuff into the correct slots to make it work, which is more than I expected. Based on the times of her tweets (and you know she can't stub her toe without tweeting about it) it took about 10 hours to get it put together when it should have taken less than an hour (at most), so she apparently ran into trouble. We'll never get the details about that though.

The next thing to happen is one of her twitter idiots will start talking about overclocking, then Wu is really gonna start melting things

Hopefully turns out to be John's version of plugging in the Keurig in the bathroom outlet :alog:

Who's "we", John? How fucking stupid can one person be?

John's like that waterboy on the high school sports team.
He acts like he's a pro major league manager coach, but doesn't know shit about the actual sport and everybody hates him.
Another plastic corpse for the dust pile.

Serious hull damage from cringe

Does she come with a detachable penis, snarl-tic face plate, an asian CucKen that has a gaping mouth and burnable money?

At least this gives John a way to live out his dream of being an attractive, hot female game designer.
GODDDDDD HE PUT THE BIOS THING AGAIN

I learned when i was 10, is not hard

God almighty he is going to make that thing explode isn't?

is he for real? claiming that you are the hot shit in tech and you dont know how to build a rig? come on john you could have spare the world the cringe and build a pre builded one

This is gonna fall apart.

I did it when I was 16. With people over teamspeak telling me what to do.

It's astonishing that Flynt/Wu is trying to pass off doing a half-assed job of assembling a computer as something only the Tranzilla of Tech Feminists can accomplish.

Here's a YouTube video of an 11-year-old boy building a gaming machine:

Flynt/Wu is boasting about doing something that prepubescent children can accomplish more quickly and more competently. Even his followers must be rolling their eyes at this ludicrous performance.

If you follow Brianna Wu, would you actually know anything at all about tech?

Well, this proves that Rev 60 isn't the only thing Wu claims to be 'nearly done', when it is nowhere near 'done'.
