I love how Flynt/Wu is attempting to deceive people into thinking that he's attending WWDC. More than 20 tweets hashtagging WWDC, to which he couldn't get a membership and at which he was not invited to speak. If you look at his Twitter feed, there's not a single photo from a WWDC event. (The folks at RelayFM are apparently as deceptive as Flynt/Wu and are trying to piggyback their activities on WWDC by falsely implying that RelayCon is part of WWDC. So the photos from their party -- which Flynt/Wu also claims is part of WWDC -- don't count.) I'm guessing that he's watching live streaming of some of the major events and Tweeting as if he were in attendance, a ruse that is somewhat undermined by the Twitter slapfight he engages in while Apple's CEO is supposedly speaking.

#WWDC2016 keynote is almost over and still no Jimmy Iovine. I guess they still haven't let him out of the dungeon after Apple Music.

Brianna Wu ‏@Spacekatgal Jun 13
Jokes aside: No news about Metal, games, VR or 3D APIs from #wwdc2016. NO MAC CAN CURRENTLY RUN OCULUS. This is serious Apple technology gap

Brianna Wu ‏@Spacekatgal Jun 13
Apple is now the industry leader in emojification technology. Try your best Android, THEY HAVE THIS GAME ON LOCK #WWDC2016

Biggest news out of #WWDC2016 is the death of HFS+. New file system features are cloning and snapshots of file states. EXCITING.

Brianna Wu ‏@Spacekatgal Jun 13
Apple's State of the Union was much more impressive than #WWDC2016 keynote. Lots to be excited about, but on the developer side.

So - my bronchitis is back today. Cannot stop coughing. Sorry if I'm missing your WWDC event, but I'm going to chill at hotel and rest up.

Those are people who for every minute they spend diddling with hardware, they lose a minute doing their actual work.

And there is no shortage of intro level tech workers who put together machines cheap.

But it wouldn't cost John a dime to do a simple Google search and then some minor manual labor. Other than that John is too fucking incompetent to even do that.

Considering the first thing people do after they get bored with the "cute little doggy" in Valve's VR demo is think up ways to kill it, I doubt it's really going to be all that great at teaching empathy.

It will just provide a safe outlet for people's sociopathic impulses and/or produce shitloads of animu and other fetish porn.

The VR porn revolution is going to start with waifu animated games. 360 degree cameras need to go stereoscopic before VR porn makes you feel like you're not in a sphere surrounded by projected porno. To stay on topic, stop lying John. We all know you're a hack.

A lot of these lower tier conferences charge a speakers fee. A real conference pays you to attend and normally you get a room and travel expenses included. Johnny is lucky to get his admission ticket covered by the conference most times.

Johnny is willing to pay for a spot, as well as his own travel and hotel expenses, at the low attendance events simple because it allows him to protect the appearance of a successful IT speaker person.

His ego is easily worth the $1000 bucks.

PROTIP: If you are paying to do something, it is not your profession.

John is the sort of guy who would take a vacation at a dude ranch and claim to be a cowboy.

This is the worst presentation slide I've ever seen, and it looks exactly like what I would expect a slideshow from a charlatan who had no idea what he's taking about would look like. It reminds me of this "parody of every TED Talk" http://digg.com/video/ted-talk-parody

There is no content in that slide, just vague, feel-good promises and an assurance that what the speaker's taking about is worth talking about. This pathetic image sums up everything you need to know about Wu's career and manufactured persona.
I knew that slide reminded me of something!
Either that or he'd use children's paste glue instead of thermal paste. "I'm an engineer, Frank! I know what I'm doing!"
As if. She is just going to buy an Alienware PC or something, then endorse the product for being super awesome and as good as anything she could have build, with her 10 years of experience in building high-end PCs or whatever. It wouldn't surprise me, if she made that Facebook post in the hope some company will just give her a new rig, if she just promises to tweet a few pictures of it.

Or as a third option: Brianna buys a PC and says it was a gift from a fan/developer/secret benefactor. That way she gets to trumpet her own self-importance and avoid having to actually build a PC which would probably be as inefficient and bloated as Rev60. She'll make up some lines about "upgrading it" and maybe even "hacking" some software to make it better. Then she'll never use to develop for the Oculus after taking a few photos of some developer software on the screen, or maybe it'll just become another gaming rig for her play vidya on at 4am on a Tuesday.

So why is she all about the Rift anyway? From what I've seen the Vive seems to be superior and will probably have more game support in the long run.

No idea. Brand loyalty? Maybe because it was the original and Brianna doesn't want to associate with imposters and usurpers?

It was the first (and biggest) name in VR. He'll probably jump ship to another product as soon as an Apple magazine or blog tells him to.

The AR-15 is the designation given to the civilian version of the M-16.

One of the defining factors of an assault weapon is the capacity for automatic fire (this means when you hold the trigger down, the weapon will continue to fire until it is out of ammunition or you release the trigger). As sold, the AR-15 is only capable of semi-automatic fire (this means the trigger must be pressed and released for each round fired), while the M-16 is capable of full automatic (and burst fire in later models, which fires 3 rounds for each trigger pull).

Thus, by definition the AR-15 is NOT an assault weapon, while the military version of the same weapon (the M-16) is an assault weapon.

This is an argument that does nothing but serve to derail the actual point. Anti-gun advocates like to use the term "assault weapon" because it sounds scary. Pro-gun advocates like to focus on their incorrect use of the term to argue against rather than the actual issue. It's an appeal to emotion vs an appeal to the dictionary, and accomplishes about as much as the athiest vs christian debates that are all over youtube.

Part of the problem here is that people are focusing on whether the rifle was an assault weapon or not, and it frankly doesn't matter. What matters is that this man was a crazy person who decided to do damage, and how many times he had to pull the trigger on whatever weapon he chose to use to do so is frankly academic. It would have been just as tragic if he had used pistols, and someone familiar with them could have done just as much harm just as quickly in a place like that.

Edit... Way more information than you requested, sorry for the screed.
One of the things they were talking about on the news is how the AR-15 was built to destroy flesh. The specific example was of even if someone got him in the forearm the entire arm up to the shoulder would be useless because the damage would travel upward or something

Bob 4chan strikes again!

I didnt know people could access banking details though a twitter account.

Actually, that COULD be her. She's only a couple levels higher than in the screenshot posted to twitter AND she could have easily bought a Fantasia ($10 a pop) to change her race (the character on the lodestone is now a Miqo'te (catgirl), whereas on twitter she was an Au Ra).
Thats a lot of levels than just White Mage. How long would it take to get all those levels? Could she have been given an alt someone 2 boxes?

All of this hand-wringing about VR and how to make it a safe space is just social justice nutjobs and ideological opportunists jumping ship from traditional gaming platforms before they get a swift kick in the ass. At the risk of exposing my power level, I own both a Rift and Vive and develop for them. I still get motion sickness if things aren't calibrated perfectly. We're a ways off from VR being as common as an SNES, and anybody who's already proclaiming the dangers of VR has never worn the damn headsets for more than five minutes.
Too bad theres VR porn. Some porn company had a booth at E3.

"With the case, the main feature I am looking for is expandability."

I didnt know a computer case could have expandability.

Its already happening

But seriously technically speaking you can make a rig VR ready with 1200-1000 (but i have see guys making VR Ready rigs with 600) depends of the GPU knowing john he is just going to blow patreon money in a GTX 1080, i cant see him buying a R9 400 because "is just 200 bucks"

And even if he buy a pc, he is not going to talk very deeply about it, remember that he hate the framerate police

at this point is a fact that he hate steam, steam=valve=heresy

The porn industry is, as usual, already on top of the new tech. There is already a LOT of 3d stereoscopic porn, both in 180 and 360 degree formats. The only major downside I've seen at the moment is that the headsets have a relatively low resolution for the time being, which is to be expected on this first generation of hardware. And it's still pretty awesome, tbh.

Spoken like a true connoisseur and user of such things.

Why would someone hate the Framerate Police? It often gives you workarounds. I don't know anyone who uses it as a buyer's guide.

All the failures of "indie" game devs hate it because for them its practically a seal of "you fail at this" and that hurt their feelings (and according to them sales), there was even a outcry in Kotaku that involved Rami Ismail one of John friends

And it was created by totalbiscuit so john has more reasons to hate it
