Like, why not just say "This movie was pretty great!" Just give it a blanket comment of praise and a recommendation and be done with it. Why does she have to sound like she knows anything about everything

The original tweet is almost masterful bullshit. The first sentence asserts knowledge without saying anything. The second picks on a subset of the first that most people don't know or care about. If you have just a passing knowledge of film it seems entirely reasonable on the surface.

Does BriWu think that Heavy Rain is still considered to be some measurement of gameplay storytelling? Aside from the finger scene, I really don't remember much about the game in any meaningful way.

I see Wu is yet another dipshit who doesn't realize Scream was written as a satire.

From the few people I've talked to that played Heavy Rain, they actually had very little good to say about it at all so like you I'm unsure as to why Wu thinks comparisons are a good thing.

Heavy Rain used to be the game of choice for smug hipsters who wanted to prove how much smarter and cultured they were than everyone else. John loves it for exactly that reason.

I've only watched Matt and Pat of Super Best Friends Play do a playthrough of it, and holy crap, it was some shit writing. Especially the whole reveal of the killer.

Coding in the movie theatre, I assume.

The first tweet's selection for those categories almost makes it look like Wu hit up rotten tomatoes hoping to make 3 easy selections based on high ratings, got The Shining (easy) and then stumbled on the issue where many horror movies end up with wildly inconsistent ratings even when good, making "masterpieces" and "classics" harder to determine at a glance. So he gave up, and grabbed a decently rated Stephen King based one (the Wulogic probably being: prolific author = good author = good movie adaptations), and grabbed Scream because it was rated fairly high and saw frequent use of "meta" in the review summaries.

Yeahhh... I'm sorry, It is not a good movie. Pennywise is scary as all hell, sure, but that doesn't mean the rest of the movie is all that great.

In any case, must be great to have all this free time to go out and watch movies, now that the game has been rele.... oh wait.

John the "software engineer":

John is actually boasting about solving a challenge poorly.

I bought the game to see what it was she failed so badly at. The final challenge is... sorting an array. No, really. Here's my first attempt at it, I just did insertion sort which is the simplest and usually the worst performing sorting algorithm:

wu sucks at programming.png

I literally have no idea how Wu managed to use so many instructions to do so little in so much time. It seems like it ought to be impossible. Real programmer grrl though.

Perfect metaphor for the life of John Flynt.

It's time for the Wu Programming Challenge :lol: Let's see...

Code:
start:
for (int i = 0; i < LENGTH; i++)
{
   for (int j = 0; j < LENGTH; j++)
   {
      if (j < i) continue;
      if (array[j] <= array[i])
      {
         int temp = array[j];
         array[j] = array[i];
         array[i] = temp;
         goto start;
      }
   }
}

Well John has somethings in common with the 'director' then. Both he and David Cage are shitty creators that talk out their ass and make terrible pieces of software they call "games".
Oh and they're both men who's works objectify women.

whoa
After all the started, self-hyped and dropped videogames of Devi's
and of course
[MEDIA=kickstarter]deviever/console-ii-cartridge-based-multi-fx-guitar-pedal[/MEDIA]
that's a bit, well

I don't understand Devi that well or know much about her, but she's a huge waffler, right? The one who kept switching sides in GG?

well (and this might be better in Devi's thread b/c we are drifting from John) she's always been pretty consistent in one respect that drives the whole thing
I think Devi sums it up pretty well

It wasn't really ever about gamergate for Devi so much is it's about leveraging it for attention and e-beg bux.
To that end Devi experimented with different themes to try to become THE ____ OF GAMERGATE, but couldn't get anything to really stick.

There's a whole drama around that, but that's beyond the scope of the Wu thread. It's pretty lulzy though
