I expect Franks gonna get a nasty surprise soon when he looks at his bank account and realizes he just paid thousands for expedited printing and shipping of a few dozen posters and 20 t shirts so that his highly successful 'wife' could spend time playing games, tweeting and mansplaining at random Canadians instead of working.

I'm beginning to suspect Frank has a bizarre sexual fetish involving his money being squandered to achieve nothing.

Wu regularly inserts terms into his twitter which are purely utilised to give those unfamiliar with him, or the easily misled, the notion that he is some sort of brilliant, versatile Renaissance Man.....Lesse, off the top of my head: Polemic, shoeleather reporting, intersectional, binary, crunch, etc etc etc ad infinitum. The humor comes in realising that, as Twitter is designed to be a medium of expedient, terse communication, owing to its strictures on length, such verbose and prolix wordplay is actually an impediment to easy interpretation. See? I Wu'd the shit out of that last sentence. Here, I'll put it in common speak:

BIG WORDS DON'T MAKE YOU SMART, DICKLESS.

To shamelessly steal from Hemmingway:

Poor Wu. Does she really think big smarts come from big words? She thinks we don't know the ten dollar words. We know them alright. But there are older and simpler and better words, and those are the ones we use.

Marketing prep is the new word for finishing every final fantasy ever with game genie?
In this context the "translate tweet" link visible in there is both relevant and fairly amusing.

Though I'm going to assume that is due to non-English language settings somewhere client-side or a fluke and not because twitter is actually trying to provide a translation from Wuspeak.

The answer is yes. Everything is about signalling. She sees and defines people as shallow stereotypes, thus the logic extends that all she needs to do is make token gestures of what she thinks someone of the desired identity does. So, playing games and writing code isn't as important as broadcasting it on twitter every 5 minutes.

Wu has the habit of many autodidacts of incorrectly using "fancy" words. Except Wu has no excuse for this, having spent 10 years in college at the expense of the parents he constantly defames with lies.

It's what honestly makes me pity Wu at times. Instead of admitting to having a basic understanding of many subjects, enough to spark a conversation with people in different fields (and so incidentally increase knowledge that way) Wu doesn't. She flicks through some things, barely understands it, then declares herself an expert. It's the whole spoiled child thing that resonates so strongly from her time and time again. Pitiable, so pitiable.

John worked as hard at university as he works now at GiantSpaceKat. It's no wonder at all that he can throw around fancy words and not understand what they actually mean.

We should not be surprised that someone who took 10 years to not graduate thinks that sounding smart is the same thing as being smart.

This is so obvious with her self-proclaimed Unreal Engine expert bullshit. If she spent as much time learning the Unreal engine as she does playing retro vidya games, maybe she'd actually learn how to improve her game!

The new Ghostbusters film is going to bomb so hard that is still insane to me that the director keep pushing the "feminist ghostbusters" angle. Feels like there is a problem with social activism when the loudest voices are people that consider dislikes in YouTube of a Hollywood film a feminist issue. That's the only reason why people like Wu keep themselves somehow relevant even if it is as bottom barrel fodder.
None of the jokes feel like ghostbuster jokes. Like you need to identify a female bill murray and then a Dan aykroyd. I guess the Egon character is pretty good. The black character is supposed to be the normal relatable down to earth guy. The only black trope Winston had was being a little down on his luck and some bemusement with white people antics.

Like you could totally make a ghostbusters with girls. I like the bimbo dude secretary kind of even though that wasn't in the original

Her "team" is hard at work on that stuff.

My history professor told me about this once. The idea goes that people with a general understanding of something mistakenly believe that they possess a much greater knowledge than they actually do. Only once they have learned a significant amount do they realise how little they know. He called it the Hill of Ignorance or something like that. I couldn't find it online so I made up a graph to explain it.

Brianna is currently building her castle atop Mount Knowitall and settling in, ready for a long siege.

What is that program BTW? And what hack did you make for FF1?

FFHackster, a utility designed to enable you to streamline hack creation. You can do everything from edit spells and enemies to weapons and classes. Even the world map can be edited! You're still restricted by the myriad issues the NES FF1 has, such as data capacity, the way elements and such works, and so on, but if you're the kinda shit that's wanted to edit FF1 for a dog's age, this is your program.

As for the hack I made, I called it FF1 Revised. It was designed to make the game a bit more true to the original translation whilst balancing out the spell lists a tad and improving the viability of various classes. Some enemies are made harder, the translation I tried to get a bit closer to the original given the game script, and it featured modded sprites intended to make the game a bit closer to its future release. The spell list was completely rebalanced to get rid of the dead wood that cramped a lot of the spell list and did nothing - if not help enemies. |

I'm legit surprised that the file still works.

Some new goodies are also scattered around including a new sword that rounds out a vital and missing part of the arsenal - be forewarned, however - several enemies are much stronger and more brutal - especially the bosses. It's been a while since I've done anything with it, let alone bugtested it; it was something I did between projects over a decade ago, really, but if for some insane reason you want to play it, the ROM is here.

As @Jaimas would say: Considering that this is the same man who actually created a female artist (& romance, lest we forget!) from whole cloth to enhance his work and image, is there ANYTHING beyond the reach of John's insane, self-promotional fumbling?

You really need to ask? Wu's so visibly stupid that any additional evidence thereof seems almost superfluous and yet still she manages to find colorful new ways to fuck up with almost mechanical regularity. I've never seen anything like it. Even Chris could be successful sometimes.

I'm beginning to suspect Frank has a bizarre sexual fetish involving his money being squandered to achieve nothing.

He could donate it to us and get a nice True and Honest Fan banner.

...And completely unaware that the mountain suffers periodic violent tectonic shifts.

WHERE
IS
THE
GAME

Oh hey, Brianna is talking about yet another new game! I should go ahead and update the tracker but I'll wait a bit to see if the game pops up on her profile in the next couple of days. She will, from time to time, sperg about a recently released game without playing it.
