Just in case the tweets showing off the "rave concert chic" lighting effects weren't enough to convince one of the high quality of the alterations being made to the game:

That's some good writing right there I tell you what

Of all of Revolution 60's myriad sins, the writing and dialogue is by far the worst, and also the area where Wu clearly had the most influence as well. The characterization is fucking awful, and Brianna has no idea how people react to different chars (she insists Minuete is the good choice in-game despite Amelia clearly coming across as the superior choice in literally every regard, analogous to how she feels Paragon Shepard is villainous). Crimson goes insane because soybeans, and there's geishabots through the power of plot convenience and Wu needed a contrived reason for there to be a sexy female body for Crimson 09.

The entire thing reads like babby's first Mass Effect wannabe.
Wait a minute... CheckerBimbo is supposed to be the good choice?
Also, I love how at the great climax of the game, a) when you did like Smutley and supported Amelia, it means you'll only get a retarded choice that is guaranteed to fuck you over and b) the only impact of those skill checks throughout the game is to fuck you over at the end.
Cherry on top: After getting the "Bad End" where BikerBimbo bites the dust, you get a "sometimes you don't win in a game hurr durr" message.

Either way, I feel the Geisha-Bots are a ripoff from Ghost in the Shell, specifically the second movie Innocence (the entire plot revolves around why some sex-gynoids go on a rampage) and maybe an episode of Standalone Complex, where some Geisha-Bots get hacked and attack some politicians.
Jesus Wu you cant even see the computer screen the girls are looking at.

I do notice some different textures in the new version and theres a screen with a numpad on it. They new textures alone would have made this better than the original but no she had to fuck it all up with bloom. Even with the huge fucking textures in this game that screen in the original is blurry as shit.
Just goes to show how behind the times this Godzilla in Tech is. Bloom was considered "chic" 10 years ago. I doubt people still think that way a decade later (even though it's still in use).
It's just the lazy go-to effect to cheaply make your game look more fancy.

By the time the game releases, it'll just be a constant white screen with some voice acting and tremendous thermal strain on your entire PC.

The fact any asshole can say without irony the left side of this picture looks better than the right speaks volumes to how fucking gullible Wu's asspat brigade is:

I mean, SHIT, my eyes haven't frosted over so bad since CGA graphics were considered cutting edge.
I remember back in 2007, when I was but a wee lass who had just gotten her hands on The Elder Scroll: Oblivion. As I soaked in the beauty of my surroundings, I noticed a sheep wander by. It's woolly white body glowed with the bloom of a nuclear explosion as it wandered past me and I remember being captivated by the sight of the game's radiant AI I had heard so much about. But then I though: I wonder if there's a way to turn that bloom off because it's really annoying me.
That was a decade ago and nothing's changed.

Wait, do we have any reason to think the neon shit might be something she has some sort of fixation on ala. her shitty characters? That's a huge number of completions provided s/he isn't lying.
She does like gaudiness for the helluvit, if her infamous résumé is any indication.

The more and more I look at Wu's game, the more and more it reminds me of 2012's Syndicate's wanton overuse of bloom lighting.

Funny thing is though, for a game that skullfucks the original 1993 game's premise and throws in dubstep just to smear salted lemon juice into the wound, the bloom was easily the worst part of the game. There were MANY times where the levels themselves worked against me and made me unable to even see an enemy ten yards directly in front of me. This is a shining example (pun... maybe intended) of how not to do lighting.

And yet, Wu somehow makes it look even worse. It's not a hairtrigger FPS certainly, but in Syndicate there were a few moments where it didn't feel like you were staring into a halogen lightbulb. With Rev 60, I have a dreadful feeling those lightbulbs are going to be jammed right into my eyesockets.

...and it appears I have an eyesocket fetish today.

You and @Furina make an interesting observation in that overdone lighting effects are largely a thing associated with games from a few years ago back when consoles and PCs finally had the processing power to handle it so people threw them on everything because it helped give your game cool screenshots or it just helped with games that have a more muted color palette. Brianna, as usual, is a few years behind the popular trends and trying to replicate them without understanding why it was done that way.

The bloom definitely can make certain scenes look stunning and dramatic, but when used everywhere it becomes the eye-gouging nightmare we all. Most devs worth their salt understood this and after a little early awkwardness they learned how to use HDR lighting correctly. Brianna is not a dev worth her salt. She's barely worth her weight in compost. Coupled with her awful, gaudy taste, the bloom nightmare we've seen Rev60 morph into was inevitable.
I also believe that Brianna has no idea what kind of aesthetic she's going for. At a glance it seems like she's going for a 60's pulp sci-fi kind of vibe but that doesn't really mesh with the story or the characters. See No One Lives Forever for a much better example. She probably just thought 60's = colourful = put colour EVERYWHERE!! Maybe then she thought Sci-Fi = lightblooms = put light blooms EVERYWHERE!!

In short, Brianna has no idea how to make something that looks good.

Yeah, looking at the Rev60 relight made me think of No One Lives Forever, too. I mean, as an example of an artistic treatment that would have worked better. Though NOLF had lots of grunge, because it took place in grungy places, which counterbalanced the colourful Sixties thing nicely.

Also, killer soundtrack. But I sperg.

Hey now, compost is useful, you can use it for agriculture and pronking people.

Wu does not have those good points. Wu is... I dunno, Ricin? Anthrax?

Wait, those would make awesome band names.

I have it! Brianna Wu is worth her weight in Brianna Wu!

Anyway, being a little more off-topic, Wu's just going to add more and more visual rubbish until her computer explodes from overwork, and if possible, make actual high end computers struggle. You thought the gameplay was slow before? It'd be a whole new level with the framerate going all Blight Town on anyone stupid enough to play.

That is if Jaimas isn't correct with the assumption that Wu messed with something that shouldn't be messed with and rendered the game unplayable (literally rather than figuratively).

At this rate Wu'd be better off trying to release it as a Visual Novel or something. I mean, it fails visually and as a novel, but she wouldn't have to worry about graphics or animation or anything.
