The only constant is that GamerGate is to blame, natch.
 
I don't want to drift too far off the core topic of making fun of Wu, but the whole Social Autopsy thing is really intriguing to me.

Here you have what could only be described as a perfect storm for the whole anti-harassment set: another online harassment charlatan, who is not on board with their little narrative, who appears to be a well spoken, professional person, who's mere presence doesn't alienate and repulse everyone outside of fringe SJW culture, who has at least a tiny modicum of business and communications acumen, who also happens to quality for more oppression points. It really could not have been have been planned any better.

Wu's followers are legit, but the overpowering majority are holdovers from when GG was a thing, and her followers include countless who are following her solely to chronicle her or troll. What this means is that she's just some quirky nobody in the Tumblrette mentions list, relegated to the same relevance as cat pictures and the like. A follower doesn't have to like, view, or even do anything with said user to be considered a real user by TweetAudit, so considering how many people are in the same circles as Wu (Maddie Myers for example), the only people following Wu don't give a shit. That's why she can have thousands of likes in one post and struggle for double digits the next.

If you want a great example of this in action, view the commenter-base the next time Wu does a podcast or the like and allows call-ins. All call-ins she has are from members of her staff, are Frank himself, or are people Wu set up in advance, and virtually never will Wu allow a caller on the air. The chat channel is heavily moderated and consists of 97% trolls and similar malcontents, minimum, with the rest being appointed syncophants.

Wu has no audience.

Wu would love nothing better than to have a widespread audience, but fact is she can't handle it. Hell, she can barely handle an interview where the interviewer isn't naively devouring any scrap Wu feeds them, let alone a public forum.

The vast majority of her tweets are economics-related infographics and links to her articles on @inc and the like.

She's quite a number of years late on this. There are many games now with either entirely female casts or heavy screen-time for female chars and their interactions, so her game isn't unique in that and it's not "huge". Assault Android Cactus has an all-female non-sexualised cast, and actually good gameplay. Life is Strange, TWD2, Bloodborne, etc. all have a heavy emphasis on female characters with a diverse set of personalities. There are games doing far more interesting things with gender representation on top of actual solid gameplay (e.g. Rust). If female chars with different personalities are all that her game is bringing to the table in this day and age, it's not much of a Revolution.

Ah this is just Wu bullshitting in an attempt to make her game not look like simplistic garbage, I know. But still insinuating a character is a villain because they try to be moral and dismiss irrational thinking as crazy because that makes her "ableist" is just ridiculous.

Not to mention the two recent Tomb Raider games. Just scrap the game and move on, John. Nobody is going to buy it after it gets demolished in Steam reviews.

She used to idle in the IRC channel of a major SV tech startup incubator. Based on her activity there I can say she's A) not naive, and B) fully understands how to play the game of Drama On The Internet. My suspicion is that she despises lolcows and other talentless internet beggars gaining a platform as media quotable "Women in Tech."

They aren't even real female characters, they are all idealized versions of facets of wu. I'm fine with her being ts but she's appropriating feminism and basically telling woman they should be thrilled she did.

Trannies being more extreme feminists than woman is a trope at this stage and, imo, is kind of sexist.

If they're not talking over natural-born women and taking over women's spaces (whether they be change-rooms or platforms to discuss issues facing women), they're often putting on the same fake, stereotypical female personality of what they think girls are like. It *is* pretty insulting to women.

I've recently seen a transgirl in my social circle say she loves getting all these cute clothes and it's such a thrill, but she's thinking of stopping her hormones and reverting to male because she wants to actually be taken seriously in her career and cuz her female self isn't cool or funny like her male self was. :\ Apparently, humour is inversely proportional to breast growth. Obviously, not all are like that, but it does make you wonder whether some ever actually identified with women, or if they just craved the attention women's selfies get on social media cuz no-one wants to see dicpics.
 
Wu's pathetic. If "ablest" language was such a big deal, they would have changed it rather than spend months toying with lighting effects.

The truth is changing voice lines would require time, money and effort which is exactly why Wu hasn't bothered. It's far easier to tweet about it and claim brownie points for thinking about something they didn't even do.

This is pretty telling because it's what the people who have played R60 have noticed. Minuete is written like a stereotypical power hungry double-agent from the word go, and all of a sudden we're supposed to care about her because she gets zombified by evil robot spiders and NotGlados.

Amelia is portrayed as nerdy, competent, concerned about her teammates and wanting to stop shit before Fifth Column laserbeams washington... until she's discovered to be working for bad guys from start in a amazing twist.

Just like "Paragon Shepherd is the evil one", Wu doesn't understand how humans interact or how emotions work.
