Returning to an earlier topic: did any info about Wu's supposed panel at IAPP ever surface? As far as I recall, even Wu didn't try to pretend it was a big event this time.

Don't think anyone talked about it at all, not even the usual suspects that would publish an article when Wu takes a particularly feminist shit.

Wu's also still claiming to be a software engineer and admitted to being a harasser.

I don't think Wu is going to talk about having to eat crow in regards to Alison Rapp.

>Comic books aren't really about powers and fights - they are about character and truth. They mirror the human experience like Greek myths.
>And please don't tweet names of well-rounded heroines in comics at me

So I suppose were just ignoring Harley Quinn is more of an anti-hero in comic's these days. Or the whole Thor being a woman now. Or that Squirrel Girl is none of those things and has her her own comic now. Or the Batgirl known as Cassandra Cain. Or how SpiderGwen is now a thing and crazy popular.

But I'm just a white cis male, with only a base knowledge of comics and yet just named all those characters, what do I know?

This is derailing, belittling and unhelpful.

You shitlord.

Didn't you read her last tweet? You aren't allowed to contradict her with facts. Her opinions and impressions are more important than mere facts.

Whenever Wu says something to the effect of "please don't contradict me", I just imagine a scientist or outreach advocate speaking to an audience about some subject or another, making points up as they go along and tt the end of the talk ask everyone that attended to pelase not talk about the presentation with them and to not correct them on obvious bullshit.

If they had any sort of career in academia they would at the very least have a big stain on their reputation and get ridiculed by their peers.

Wu considers everything 'derailing' that isn't 'agreeing' with her.

Wouldn't be a huge surprise. For Wu it's all about the backchannel contacts. Using regular reporting functionalities would probably mean that the complaint gets routeted to some poor intern or disinterested staffer sitting on a low rung inside the company.

They would probably not care very much for someone being adamant that perfectly fine (if unflattering) images get deleted and just not do it. If you can get in contact with someome that oversees things (like an engineer that has some clout) you can sometimes get things moving just by threatening to raise a stink to your 50k+ followers.

I think it may be likely that someone Wu knows that worked at Twitter quit and fled to greener pastures.

Twitter had a purge recently and judging from Wu's reaction when it happened I think her main backchannel lapdog there got fired.

She still has some clout though because of her link to Del Harvey via Glenn Fleishman.

Also don't host Wu images on imgur, they will take them down if she starts bugging them, imgur has gone full SanFran SJW infested.

Or that Squirrel Girl is none of those things and has her her own comic now

Wu isn't interested in fat chicks

This is one of those times that I'm reminded that the people who complain about specific forms of media are never the ones who actually partake in it.

X-23. Clone of Wolverine that's angry about being raised to be a weapon, was a prostitute, eventually grew beyond her feral beginnings and became, in many ways, smarter than Wolverine. In some ways I'd even call her a better character than ol' Weapon X himself.

But mentioning the existence of an actual strong and 'angry' woman in a comic book canon would just trigger him and ruin the narrative he's trying to build, so for all intents and purposes, she doesn't exist.

Clearly bait, she knows what she's saying is wrong and super generalized and she knows the audience she's targeting is full of autist dudes who can't stop themselves from correcting her. And once they do she gets to get on a soap box and scream sexism. It's pretty smart actually.

Fuck, having Emma Frost listed as a villain is hard as hell for me not to sperg about, and there's no way she doesn't know the state of that character going back some 20 years almost now.

Just curious, but what programming languages does John "Software Engineer" Flynt claim to be proficient in?
Last summer, she answered a couple of reader questions on Slashdot. This was one of those she deigned to reply to:
Rick in China said:
I'm interested in what development languages you excel in and how you mastered them - as head of development for a gaming company, I think that's my first question. Follow-up side-points would be when you transitioned from journalist to game developer, and why game development? Was it related to some of the 'sparks' and 'movements' by some other females 'in the gaming community' - and seen as an easy way to jump on a bandwagon that was clearly going to make waves? Journalist to developer just seems like a very strange transition to me, so I'm curious about the particulars. Do you have a github account where you publish some of your code?
Her answer (emphasis mine):
Brianna Wu said:
I’ve had many jobs over the course of my life. I’ve worked in politics and well as media. Both have been very helpful backgrounds for me in running a studio, which is a very political job. One of my greatest frustrations as a developer is that I don’t get to spend as much time doing gamedev as I used to. The truth is, I can hire another engineer - but I can’t hire someone to replace me.

I feel like my entire life has prepared me for this moment. There’s very little I would change about the choices that brought me to this point.

I can’t help but read your question and feel like you might not have the best of intentions. I read it as you are feel that I need to prove to you that I’m a legit developer. I think my record as someone whose first game won several game of the year awards speaks for itself. I think my two popular shows on Relay.FM where I am an industry analyst on technical issues speaks for itself.

I do have code up on Github, but like many women developers - it’s under a gender-neutral pseudonym, because I know it will be torn to pieces if it’s not. I once wrote a joke on Twitter with pseudocode, written to be readable for non-developers - and received a litany of sexist accusations and code critique.

There is an unconscious bias that men are assumed competent until proven otherwise, and women are assumed incompetent until proven otherwise. My track record of success speaks for itself.
Make of that what you will.

"Sending swarms after people"
The only time you ever sent a swarm of harassment at someone is when you were pissed at TotalBiscuit for not reviewing your shit game, which came back to bite you in the ass when you found out that TB has cancer and only a few years left to live.
Instead of apologizing, you tried to sweep it under the rug.

Wow. If this Playbook is so horrible towards normal women with perfect lives, imagine how bad it must be for crazed trannies who lie about everything.
