Looking at the NEW and IMPROVED formula game thing in original size is legit hurting my eyes a bit.

It's fucking terrible design, holy shit. People will laugh at this so hard it will make Wu's ears ring all the way to Massachusetts...provided it finds its way onto Steam. :story:

It's so busy that I can't tell what I'm supposed to be focusing on. Is she actually going through and clicking every lighting effect available?

I think that's the only explanation.

It just makes no sense that hallway on a spacestation would be illuminated like that. When I remember Mass Effect, a game that apparently heavily inspired Revolution 60, the only places coming to mind that were this jarring/busy when it came to lighting are Purgatory Bar on the Citadel and Club Afterlife on Omega Station, LITERAL NIGHT CLUBS and even those were much more nuanced.

A weapons platform like the one in Rev60 would not be designed to look like it rolled through a paint shop. It's a military installation, not an amusement park. Things like that should be functional and minimalistic. If anything it'd be mostly white-ish/gray with sources of light being computer terminals and sources of color being colored guiding lines on the walls/ground. Wu's put no thought into the design of anything.

In fairness, those environmental textures do look better than the iOS version so that's some improvement I guess? I mean it's hard to have worse textures than the iOS version but improvement is improvement.

I'd bet on those textures not being his work though. I'm guessing samples from the SDK (full disclosure, no idea if the UE4 SDK comes with sample textures), because of the minimum effort required.

Also, jesus christ where is the light on her face coming from? The light sources I can see are on the sides, so I can only assume an invisible LED bar intended for a trophy truck is sitting about 5 inches from the front of her face. :\

That hair is painful to look at. She went out of her way to change the texture, and it still looks so shit, it makes the first Sims game look high-end in comparison.
And that facial anatomy is fucking terrifying. All forehead and no lower jaw.

That's the first time that I've ever been almost blinded by a STILL image.

Seriously , who on earth thinks adding a BIG OL' LENSFLARE OUTTA NOWHERE is a good stylistic choice?
It looks cheesy enough when it's your elderly uncle who does it while fucking around on Photoshop with family pictures.

On something that's supposed to be a $400k award-winning game, it's positively tragic.

It's amazing that that is the screenshot that Wu uses to show off two years of development. The definition of polishing a turd.

I don't think I would recommend getting the game only to negatively review it and refund it. Wu would like fuel for her gamergate rants or anything, really, that makes her seem like more of a pariah.
I'm sure a nigh-empty ghost town of a review section would hurt their ego a lot more because irrelevancy doesn't equate to Patreon bux.

We're talking about a military that puts purple windows on their spaceships and slaps tribals on anything. All bets are off.

Anyway, it's not so much the fact it has bright colors but rather the fact how incompetently the colors are matched. It looks jaring, unpleasant and it lacks consistency.
People have mocked DEHR for its "piss filter", but that golden tinted color palette did give the game a rather unique atmosphere.
Mirror's edge had a nice theme where everything was very bright, mostly white, sometimes yellow, and important things were colored red. That game had a great design and color concept.

Rev60 on the other hand... is terrible, down to the colors Flunky Flynt chose.

Also on a sidenote, back when Flynt sunk the first 200 grand firmly into the bedrock with his Socially Unconcious animation studio, what did he work on (if he worked on anything at all, that is). Am I right to surmise it was related to the adventures of these 4 bimbos as well?

This. Unfortunately, the Fedora-tipping Squad of Gamergate will go out of their way to rip this game apart, insult Wu and thus help validate her bullshit narrative. Don't get me wrong, it'll still be hilarious to see a flood of bad reviews and ever increasingly creative ways to mock her work, but in the end, letting that turd sink into the abyss would be a much more gratifying experience, mainly cause it would just show how irrelevant Wu is.

The game itself mocks the piss filter with all the cans of yellow paint you can see lying around. Unfortunately, R60 takes itself in utter seriousness.

Yeah, total apathy would be even funnier, but let's face it, Wu has made a point of goading GamerGaters at every opportunity, so even though most try their hardest to ignore the shit out of Wu, I have no doubt some will greatly enjoy burying the damn thing on Steam, and given all the bullshit Wu has pulled up to this point just to attack them, I'd still find it quite hard to blame them.

Besides, Steam is gamers turf, and guess what GamerGate is full of and what Wu isn't.

The salt will be hilarious, and if we're really lucky we'll see Wu get so asshurt he yanks his game again because it is so fucking toxic on Steam it's hurting more than it helps.

And even if he doesn't he's done as a game dev after this.

FLynt/Wu's messages always reveal so much more than he thinks they do.

From these tweets we learn that:

(1) Flynt/Wu literally doesn't know the meaning of the word literally.

(2) Flynt/Wu thinks "they . . . has a product" is standard English. (10 years in college, no journalism degree. As always, it's easy to see why.)

(3) Flynt/Wu doesn't understand how the stock market works.

(4) Flynt/Wu has recently heard or read the phrase "market cap" but doesn't understand what the numbers mean to market analysts.

That's quite a bit of information provided in a couple of tweets meant to say nothing more than, "I loves me some Apple."

John still has his severed dick, I see. Cool, but stop lying about its size.
Also, John, STOP FUCKING WITH THE LIGHTS. Just release the damn thing and explode in salt already!
Jeezus, John! You've completely missed the point of lens flare, lighting, and SCENE COMPOSITION itself!
The lights are unnecessarily blocking out the character's face, making it hard to decipher what they're doing, competely fucking the idea of scene compositon!

I feel bad for anybody who has high proneness to epileptic seizures. This shit's could send so many people to the hospital. Thank God John doesn't have that big of a following.
