I really hope that the new PPG doesn't end up as an SJW slogfest. A lot of the writing team and staff are huge SJWs and tumblrinas.

Resident Evil does look better because it has a great design aesthetic, understands lighting and mood. It also makes great use of its poly limit and low-res, unlike Rev60's wasteful use of 1024x1024 textures and polys.

I think it doesn't do well do try and compare Wu's game to anything in particular from the PS1. I know I've probably done just that in the past, but I think a more detailed explanation about the game's appearance is in order:
I don't like Revolution 60's art style because it is a mangled train wreck of ideas which come together in the most jarring of ways. The character models are supposed to be inspired by manga art done by Naoko Takeuchi (Sailor Moon) and Mihona Fujii (Gals!) but instead of learning and understanding what makes them work, Wu's character models come off as a cheap derivative, devoid of any personal flair. Further, the composition of the models is jarring, with their mouths set far too low that their mouths appear to sit where their chins should rest and cheekbones so egregiously high that her characters look like they're suffering from mumps. Further, while I understand previously mentioned art styles employ a hyper-exaggerated character style with elongated limbs, the reason for this art style is to help accentuate a sense of kinetic movement. Revolution 60's art style does not incorporate this, and the characters feel and appear like stiff marionettes attempting (poorly) to imitate action.
The level layouts are also a massive problem because it is readily obvious Wu does not understand the concept of "less is more" and instead has decided to continue to lay more and more colors and effects to the world and therein onto the characters in a poor attempt to mask the obvious problems. One could argue that perhaps it is supposed to be a hailback to the 1960's psychadelic art style, but the psychadelic style was a much more organic style, one branched from the mod/ art-deco movement before it. Instead, Wu's art feels more in the vein of the low-rent early to mid 1990s watered-down wannabe-anime-cyberpunk aesthetic, so the 60's excuse doesn't hold water. It just feels cheap and gropes around, trying to find relevance like a mutated deviantART project.
It is obvious Wu doesn't know what she is doing - not because of her gender, but mostly because her ego refuses to allow help from other developers and allow someone else to possibly share her pedestal.
And that's why I don't use Twitter.

It's classic Wu. Revolution 60 was criticised for not having dynamic lighting, which is something games developers have been doing since the late 90s. When she does get around to it, she goes balls deep and applies it with the skill and restraint of a 4 year-old who got in to her mother's makeup.
