It's a 100% solid rule that anything this ballyhooed in advance will always turn out to be a bust.

Definitely seems that way.

There was no way of getting around this one, mind; all evidence is that if the evidence was ever there, it was dealt with some time ago.

It is one we'll bear in mind for the future, though.

That's the curious part: They were told that they had no record of it.

We're not sure whether this was clerical error, the record storage being transferred and not updated, or Wu getting the records sealed.

We legitimately don't know. They spent several hours on-site trying to secure it. No such luck.
... Here is a fun story and just a crazy idea: A associate of mine "runs" under a different name than that person was born with.

The reason is simple: Since that person was a toddler every one called him by a different name (long story), which is sort-of a short form for his real name, but he never bothered to change his real name. Most of his records run under that other name, insurances, bank-accounts a.s.o. and he never gotten into trouble for that..... so if there is no record of Wu's name having changed....

I think rooting out "Natalie" should be a high priority.

This. While it would have been nice to have definitive proof that Wu is Flynt there's a good chance Wu would have just ignored it. I mean, Wu verifies the fact she's Flynt with every report to twitter or whenever she claims she's being doxxed. Anyone who knows about Brianna Wu knows she's John Flynt.

Getting anyone who worked for Brianna to talk would probably do way more damage. Giant Spacekat Studios is her flimsy claim to legitimacy in the game and tech scene. If more ex-employees talked to verify the stuff Amanda Warner said then Wu would look like shit. Her whole thing is "We need more women in tech" so for her to be revealed as someone who EXPLOITS women in tech would be a fucking kidney punch.

By law, when someone in Massachusetts changes their name by some means other than marriage or adoption, it is published. One can file a motion to waive publication, but there has to be a reason. Wu may very well have done this, but if not, there will be a public record of it, probably in some local "newspaper of record" or some other place that publishes legal notices.

To be fair Johhny has never claimed to be a non-profit charity. It's not listed anywhere on his patron account nor GSK web page.

Some he can basically use the money chumps fork out for what ever he likes. No records or excuses needed, well except for the IRS but I'm sure Frank deals with that.

That's why I said it isn't legally charity fraud. But considering the reasoning behind her patreon is that she needed to pay someone to handle all the harassment she was ostensibly receiving, it is in the same spirit as charity fraud.

Really all we need is someone with an older twitter account to ask these people about Natalie a few times over a few days. I'd do it but I have professional accounts that i can't risk getting caught in an IP ban.

I know that in some cities (Philadelphia, for one) it's not too hard to get a judge to agree to a sealed name change without having to run public notice if you're trans, given that having it public could result in harassment, outings, etc.

However, I question if Mississippi judge a decade or more ago would be so obliging. It could be a slim possibility, though, especially if Bri had a lawyer or an established advocacy group helping with the process.

Edit: Wait, did Wu's name change occur in MS or MA? I would expect Boston or the like to be more receptive to a trans woman's request for a sealed order.

Trying to sweep it under the rug, eh?
How about joining ISIS? They're brown and progressive.

Good. Games don't need SJWs clogging them up. Besides, it'll at least be somewhat acceptable to abuse Frank if you're in the music industry.
You have jack shit to do other than tend to the after effects of your anus being blasted into the sun.

Trying to distract people from the fact that you're still the same bigoted John before and after surgery.

The big reveal being a bust is totally fine by me. The salt that the anticipation brought out of Wu isn't as glorious, but damn if it still wasn't lulzy as hell.

Tin foil hat time, could one of John's asskissers of intercepted it or posed as a kiwi and retrieved it? We know he reads this thread, so is that too far fetched?

I doubt it. This brainless fuck has proven stunningly inept at cleaning up their evidence trail, and given the evidence of his incompetence to date, I doubt he had a damn clue what we were going after, not that he would have been able to bury it quietly without us catching wind of the attempt, and even that would have been fatal for him as it would have had the same effect as our original op's success.
