If only this had happened two or three years earlier, plenty of far-right parties would be in charge now...

pompous Germans

Hessians were conscripted serfs who got pimped out for cheaper than it'd cost to equip real soldiers. They were illiterate slave-soldier cannon fodder. I don't know how America came up with the popular narrative that they were 'elite, ruthless mercenaries' Oh wait, I do know, America decided Hessians were top tier supersoldiers after getting their asses kicked by them constantly (and then Canada kicked their ass again for good measure and burned down the white house).

To be fair, the british have a long history of taking shit-tier scrubs and using them hilariously effectively against their overconfident enemies.

War Plan Red (1936) still points to the "highly efficient" use of "Colonial troops directed by british officers" and how they would pose a "significant threat" to the Gulf and Eastern Seaboards.

We always do that with really shitty enemies nobody should feel proud of beating. Remember the Iraqi "elite Republican Guard" that were supposedly so badass and lasted for something like 10 minutes of actual fighting?

Murrica was defeated by a bunch of farmers and peasants in Vietnam. Although shitty, corrupt puppet governments and firebombing the fuck out of their lands will do that.

And good for the UK. It's always like England to take a gigantic shit on Germany after they fuck with the Brits.

Sorry for the bump.
The British government held a vote to rule out a no-deal Brexit.

MPs have rejected the United Kingdom leaving the European Union without a Brexit deal in any circumstances as Parliament took control of Britain’s divorce from the bloc.

A cross-party amendment which seeks to rule out a no-deal Brexit was agreed by 312 to 308, a majority of just four, despite Theresa May whipping Tory MPs to vote against it.

The Government defeat means MPs will now be given a vote on Thursday on whether the UK should seek an extension to Article 50 and comes after Mrs May’s deal was crushed on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, a bid by Tory backbenchers to force the Government to pursue a Brexit Plan B failed.

MPs voted against the so-called Malthouse Compromise amendment by 374 votes to 164, a majority of 210.

The amendment would have seen the UK seek a short Article 50 extension and a “mutual standstill” agreement with the EU lasting until December 2021 instead of Britain leaving with no-deal.

It appears that the government keeps wanting to leave the European Union (which isn't united. at all.), while Theresa May keeps trying everything to stay in the EU, but I might be wrong.

Means nothing, I'm afraid. Because the invocation of A50 was made by primary legislation, and because of the way the EU treaties work, we leave on 29 March 2019 with or without a deal regardless. The only way to avoid no deal is to revoke A50, which is unlikely to happen because if it did, the Government would probably collapse from resignations.
