that has to be the dumbest rationalization for China still being a communist state... Deng was considered reactionary by many Mao loyalists and Deng himself openly described himself as having "capitalist tendencies."

people twist themselves in knots trying to rationalize this but at the end of the day Deng was really just a liberal reformist who liked ML-Maoism aesthetics. the practical realities of how the Chinese state and economy are organized today most closely resemble a third positionist or fascist method of organization. the Chinese state is pretty much the embodiment of what Mussolini wanted to accomplish, only its run by a far more competent power structure. there is basically nothing essentially socialist about it, except maybe in rhetoric and aesthetics.

after all, a socialist state must at least keep up the pretense of being a positivist project moving towards a hypothetical withering of the state and eventual communism. there is pretty much no reason to believe that the Chinese state has any intention of doing that, nor should there. it makes absolutely no sense for them to do so.

The left/right dichotomy is a smokescreen for the only thing anyone should ever pay attention to the up/down authoritarian scale.
Socialist, Communist, Fascist, Imperialist ect. if you only have one party controlling your state, you live in a dictatorship.

even "authoritarianism" is a red herring, and almost everyone uses to it mean "whatever I don't like." Americans love to call China "authoritarian" while ignoring all the oppressive policies they live under. this word mostly means nothing and is just invoked as a way of making particularist criticisms.

even these things are pretty much selectively criticized... granted, no normal person would say that these things are "good," but i often wonder what people are trying to accomplish when they say that these are features of "authoritarian" systems, as if there has ever been a modern era world power that didn't do these things. neither the US nor China, nor the USSR, the Nazis, etc. are innocent of these things. ironically, the USSR, US, and China have all done these things more than the Nazis did, yet the Nazis are the most vilified of them all.
"the winners write the history books" and all that. so the point is almost moot because then it just becomes a pissing contest about whose regime was the meanest and more authoritarian-est.

I think the Taliban are pretty based fighting against Globalhomo. It’s just unfortunately so many young white men had to waste their lives fighting for a worthless cause.

So I’d imagine like you said 99% of Breadtube will take the position of taking more refugees from the afghan cities, and more drone strikes in the names of women’s liberation and Fag rights in Afghanistan.

The other Part of Breadtube that leans more tankie will think it’s based that China is adding Afghanistan to its sphere of influence.

what’s his deal now then? i know him and his mrs got booted off a podcast they used to be on but that was quite a while ago.
