I think part of this is why Bam is doing it. He's getting tons of pussy now, as much sex as he wants and when she's bored of him (he knows it'll happen) he has an excuse for the bottle. Getting his rocks off before he gets his next fix on the rocks.

Steve O has to be in a weird spot when it comes to Bam. On one hand he probably does genuinely care for Bam and wants to see him get better. He doesn't want to give up hope because he was in a similar spot once and didn't want somebody doing that to him when he was battling his own addiction issues.

On the other hand though Bam will immediately screw up and make things worse for himself every time you lend a helping hand to him. It has to be driving Steve O up the wall that no matter what he does for him, Bam will always go out of his way to ruin it.
