The three young men hit, kicked and burned the boy with a cigarette. They also connected starter cables to his body. The district court nevertheless judges the abuse as normal and does not sentence the prison sentence.

Three young men took the 15-year-old boy in a car and drove to a solitary place in the woods. There, they subjected him to an extended and torture-like treatment, according to prosecutor Helena Fredriksson.

She wanted to see the men convicted of, among other things, gross abuse, abuse of justice and illegal detention.

The district court did not share the view that it was gross abuse.

"In assessing all the circumstances of the case, the district court considers that the abuse was serious because of the circumstances, but that it does not reach the limit of serious crime," writes the district court in the judgment, which was announced on Friday.

The youngest of the perpetrators, a 17-year-old, is sentenced to illegal detention and abuse of the normal degree to youth service for 140 hours. The total penalty value is imprisonment for one year and four months, but taking into account the youth reduction only five months. However, special reasons are required for sentencing to prison since he is under 18 years of age.

One of the other men - a 19-year-old who was 18 when the incident happened in March - is convicted of unlawful detention, abuse of the normal degree and abuse of court case. The district court finds that the total penalty value of the crime amounts to one year and six months in prison. Considering the age, the penalties value amounts to imprisonment for nine months. But the district court believes that the sanction that best contributes to the man refraining from continuing crime is the supervision of community service, 200 hours. The alternative sentence is imprisonment for nine months.

The third man, an 18-year-old, is convicted of assault and unlawful detention. The district court here reason in a similar way with regard to the penalty. The total criminal value of the crime amounts to one year and four months in prison. In view of the young age, the penalties value amounts to imprisonment for eight months. He, on the other hand, is sentenced to protection supervision with community service.

All men have been unpunished since before.

Going back a few years, I had a taxi driver from Ivory Coast, who'd left there because of civil war & first went to live in Sweden but left because it was too dangerous wherever he was living, so he came to England. Which is probably not that much better in parts. I read a news story the other day where they were interviewing some Somalians in London who'd sent their kids back home because of all the knife crime in our capital. So it would seem that parts of Europe are seen to be more dangerous than parts of war-torn Africa.

Yeah, I think some of it is driven by European economies being badly handled over the last couple of decades too. I sometimes wonder if mass-immigration is driven by greed for even more consumers & tax payers, even though a sizeable percentage will never work. They will all need housing, often in rented accommodation, so more money for landlords, who are often members of the elite & having a huge supply of workers keeps wages down too.

I use to think that was a lie until I actually started paying attention to details and segments on my local News station in Ontario. the news anchors always make it a point to describe a suspect as being "white" or "Caucasian". But so many "black" or "African-Canadian" (depending on your terminology) criminals usually get described as having "dark complexion". With some exceptions though.

And heaven knows that all the other colors (like brown and yellow) don't get the color mention either when they describe them in the news.

I worked 50 hours (for free) over the last 7 days at my mandatory internship. My university is harder on its student than Sweden's justice system is on rapists.

Remember to tell your kids that if you're in a 'zero tolerance' area that they should absolutely curbstomp their bullies, literally try to beat them into a coma. They'll get punished for 'being in a fight' no matter what, so might as well create some deterrence.

Zero tolerance was a serious mistake, but our so-called "educators" don't want to admit they're wrong. Ever. Also most school admins are basically bullies who never grew up. But I'll end up derailing this thread if I go on with it. You're certainly not wrong though, but your family can get sued and they'll accuse you of planning a school shooting or some dumbass bullshit like that. I know firsthand but they couldn't do anything due to lack of evidence.

In Europe, the accusation is all the evidence they need, apparently.
