That said the "why is book not phone" meme is the boomerest of all memes. I'm really tired of seeing it. Get a new joke you Alzheimer's riddled assholes.
It's not just books, either. They always portray kids as being completely dumbfounded by unfamiliar tech, because projection is a concept that is lost on their geriatric brains.

That or antiquated tech. I've seen people mock younger generations for not being familiar with punch cards for programming like it's relevant knowledge compared to accessing their own email on a phone they still can't figure how to turn on.

The Jupiter Devouring His Son parody is. The top isn't.
Dear God, someone is nostalgic for a fucking catalogue? I assumed satire, because such un-self-aware consumerism is out of this world.
My Dad keeps repeating this joke which never made sense in the first place. Trannies never say "which bathroom am I supposed to use?" Refusing to let go of unfunny jokes is the boomerest thing you can do.

I'm just old enough to have some form of catalogue nostalgia. The actual nostalgia is for thumbing through it as a kid and picking out what you want for Christmas. As a kid, the Sears catalogue was basically a book of cool stuff to pine for. They always displayed all the stuff to make it look extra cool and it came with descriptions about how rad it all was. I highly recommend watching the first four minutes or so of AVGN's Wish List video to get an idea of how cool 80s kids used to view that kind of thing. Yeah it was consumerism, but we were kids. Consuming is basically all kids know. If you're nostalgic for getting the catalogue when you were an adult, then you're probably actually just nostalgic for the good old days, not the catalogue itself.

I have to admit I used to pretend I had some large sum of money and putting together a haul that spent all of it on all kinds of shit. My main "paging through it for Christmas presents" catalog was the Spiegel catalog, too. These things were like the Amazon of the time.

Hey, it can be updated

To the sufficiently simple-minded, vulgarity is humor in and of itself.

A pithy point, my friend. Please find attached a sample of humor from more genteel times, which, while pertaining to a different, historical matter, also bears resemblance to my response to your weighty words.
