Likely the case to be honest. Unlike today they had far harsher selection factors for survival. While they lacked a base education and the well of knowledge that is available today. It wouldn't shock me if the overall average had better deduction skills then today. We just have greater peeks and valleys
Agreed. While many of them likely couldn't read, they were just as human as we are and many likely had more experience and passed-down knowledge for practical living and surviving off the land.

It is a valid frustration when you look at the housing market alone.
TFR has been below replacement in the US since the 70's. In the same period of time, the country has grown by about 80 million. It's mass importation of the third world driving up housing prices and reducing effective wages, as predicted by any supply-demand curve theory of housing and labor. Boomers started their professional lives at the start of the mass importation of third worlders and before offshoring had hit the tech sector (it had already wiped out textiles). Boomers give you ridiculous advice that can't possibly work because their formative experiences were from a nation and a world before globalization and mass immigration.

Medieval peasants would grow crops, process the crops, take the crops to market, make all their food from scratch with what they grew/foraged themselves and sometimes bought at market or traded for, and many were skilled craftsmen who made trade goods in their free time or during the colder months when you couldn't farm. They'd also likely have had something like chickens around and some of them even more livestock. Fishing if they lived near a river or lake. For a lot of them this was subsistence rather than profit. You had to work with the seasons and weather. It's all much more involved skill sets than people think. Again, a lot of them were skilled tradesmen too.

A great video on how social security is absolutely fucking everyone under the age of 65 over while geriatrics quite literally get free dog shampoo and ski trips.

Demoralizing to the point of madness, and there is basically nothing that can be done about this short of violent upheaval or economic reckoning as retirees will never ever vote against their own interests.

He makes good points except for housing. Boomers benefit from housing prices going up because they already owned those houses but fundamentally the issue with prices going out of control is supply and demand because of massive waves of foreign immigration. Grandpa merely not wanting to move out of his house doesn't effect the supply in the way presented.

The browns need to go. Then we can have day of the pillow.

"Many"? "Likely"? No, I think it's safe to just flat-out state that they did have more experience and passed-down knowledge on these matters, on account of the fact that their survival depended on passed-down knowledge and surviving off the land.

It's only in a post-industrial society that these sorts of things become dispensable, albeit not without consequence.

The browns are here because of the boomers.

You know, they say youth is wasted on the young. I want to say that prosperity was wasted on the old. All the advantages they had in the last century, what do they do? Make it worse for the future while pushing the old " work to your bootstraps" adage.

I remember Scott Galloway did a Ted Talk about how seniors have robbed younger Americans and he called out Social Security as one of the biggest reasons as well

Completely random rant, but holy shit are Boomers so hard to shop around in any grocery store. They stop in the front doorway all the fucking time when entering. They take forever to look at 3 different options of sushi that are all priced the same and then don't end up getting it at all, they stop in the middle aisles and don't move their cart to let you around, and then finally they stop in the exit door to look at their receipt, or if you're unfortunate that day, they argue over a BOGO deal for a $2 savings for 10 minutes and your shit is already on the belt and you can't change lines.

On a day-to-day basis, this is one of the single most annoying things they do. They are completely oblivious to how much physical space they take up. At the grocery store; for all of the reasons you listed. On the road; almost every time I see someone driving in two lanes at once, or just driving slow in general, it is a boomer. Every time I've been cut off, boomer. And they aren't doing things out of malice, they just are genuinely unaware of the fact that they are in the middle of everything obstructing everyone else around them. This is, at its root, the pathology of the boomer. They have no self awareness and even if they did, they feel like they are entitled to every resource they occupy and refuse to share with anyone else.

And then when you call them out, you always get back what I like to refer to as the "boomer face" - it's a combination of confused and mad at you for making them confused. Rumpled brows and mouth open and agape. Like a shithead kid who got caught going "what are you mad at me for? I wasn't doing anything!" Watch for it, they all do it!

I wonder what would happen if you showed up to Ramsey's house and asked $600 to pressure wash his house?
Or go up to him, give him a firm handshake with eye contact and tell him you’re not leaving until he gives you a job! The boomers who push the bootstraps bullshit are the ones who would never help anyone out who took their advice unless they were related. They won’t see the hypocrisy in this and will get angry if you point it out to them. In fact, they pretty much respond to any kind of disagreement with anger.
