BloodRayne. One of the coolest vampire games. It's was by the company, Terminal Reality.

And NO, we are not talking about the crappy movies that uwe boll made. We are talking about the video game that it started from.

The story follows Rayne, a Dhampir (Half Human Half Vampire) that goes and hunts other vampires that prey on human beings, and killing and dismembering vampires violently.

The game had two games that were really good the first one is rayne getting called to fight Nazis that try to summon a powerful Demon.

The 2nd game starts focusing on Rayne's backstory. She hunts down her father and her step siblings that follow him in his path.

The game was beginning to show some lack of support. So Wayforward (The Makers of Shantae) tried to keep the Series going by making a 2d platformer Spin-off called BloodRayne: Betrayal

The game was good. Wayforward made it stay true to its bloody and dark theme like the other two games.

Sadly, on December 2013, terminal reality had been closed down, meaning any possibilities for a sequel are impossible,

But I've noticed that the games have been put on steam recently. So it means that the guy who owns the IP is probably trying to get enough money to continue the series.

I was a huge fan of BloodRayne back in the day. The first game is still a masterpiece in my opinion.

Heres a fun fact:

Do you know that Rayne is Voiced by Laura Bailey? In fact, this was her first video game to have her first voice role in in 2002

She has Also voiced:

Lucina from fire emblem awakening
Chun-li from street fighter (2009-Present)
Blaze the cat from sonic the hedgehog
Supergirl from injustice 2
Raspberyl from Disgaea 3
Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4
Serena in The Dawnguard DLC for TES V: Skyrim
Fiona from tales from the borderlands
Catwoman from Batman: The Telltale Series

Btw, she's married to Travis willingham, another popular voice actor, and he voiced Severin from bloodrayne 2

They were okay. I remember having a fun time with the first two games but remember very little of them. Actually, the only levels I can remember at all are the ones I found frustrating.

Ahhh yes. Big Titted Vampires vs. Those Wacky Nazis.

I played the first one and found it all a bit dull, esp. the middle section with the submarine base where everything was fucking grey concrete. Which turned into a womb level and there was a secret alcove with the Ark of the Covenant in it.

The second one was pretty cool I thought despite a nonsensical plot. But you don't play it for the plot do you. You play it because you're a thirsty neckbeard. Thing is, it was quite fun dismembering the bad guys and mooks as walking health packs was quite fun. As was the level with the giant deformed woman who was constantly birthing exploding zombies which you had to chain and throw back at her before they could explode in your face.

I still have it on a disk somewhere.

The one thing that did bother me - Rayne's weaknesses were sunlight (of course, being a vampire) and water. Water. What the fuck. How did she get the viscera out her leathers if water hurt her. Unless it was an attempt at some sort of "vampires can't cross running water" thing. But still... when a fucking fire sprinkler is a worse obstacle than a pack of werewolves, you're doing it wrong.

It's possible they ripped off that mechanic from Legacy of Kain.

Apparently the guys that animated Castlevania are doing a series on bloodrayne.

Not to mention ziggurat rather recently rereleased the side scroller with actual voice acting. Its hard to confirm but it seems like they brought back terminal reality in some form or fashion? They've heavily hinted at an interest in continuing the series at least.

I would love to talk Turkey about the franchise. The making of it it is extremely interesting and I'm only just now starting to get into it.

(If you take into account the parent franchise nocturne, this technically exists in the same verse as blair witch and twin peaks. )

let's see how they fuck up this one
god, that final season went absolutely nowhere
Animation wise they are a good choice. It's the unknown writer you gotta worry about and the sexy factor. Although they kept the jiggle cheat codes in the remasters so I'm hopeful.
